Dani Kloos's Journal
One Year Ago
Written Nov 22, 2013 8:33pmHi again everyone,
Well its been one year ago tonight since we got the horrible/frightening call from Jesse on that Thanksgiving night, that he and Dani had been in a head on car accident in Alexandria. As i sit here writing this tonight i can still remember exactly what i was doing when the call came, its news like that i guess that sticks in ones mind.
We are so proud of Dani and Jesse how well they have recovered from their injuries, they both still have aches and pains, and probably never get to do certain things that they had done in the past but they are up walking and that's all that really matters, the outcome could have been so much worse.
Jesse and Dani were married on August 31st, which was a very beautiful wedding just as they had planned. Nothing was going to stop Dani from walking down the isle and she was a beautiful and gorgeous bride, just as i had imagined she would be. It was such an emotional but fun day for us all. We are so happy to have Dani as our daughter-in-law.
Dani went back to work in October part-time, she is working 2 hours, 4 days a week at the salon, she was really glad to get back and she has also been doing some updates in their house and enjoying their addition of Sophie, their little dog. She has brought them both a lot of joy. Jesse continues to be busy at work and both he and Dani have been going to the YMCA for exercising which is good therapy for the both of them. They are planning their honeymoon for this winter so it will be a nice get-away and relaxing time for them.
We know that Jesse and Dani were able to get thru this last year with all of your prayers, love and support. We can not thank you all enough for that., so as we close this chapter in our lives, we ask that everyone remember to appreciate and be thankful to the people you have in your life, and try not to worry about the little things that do not matter. We wish you all a very happy Thanksgiving Holiday!! Darrell and Naomi
Back behind the shear
Written Jul 30, 2013 9:51pmHi everyone, i know its been about 1 month since the last update so i thought it was about time. I just can not believe how the time flies by. As we were driving home yesterday, Darrell got a text and picture on his cell phone from Jesse and as the title says, yes Dani was cutting his hair which was very exciting to see for all of us, Dani's words were "it felt pretty good" which i can only imagine was a huge accomplishment for her after not being able to do this for 8 months. We are so happy for her and hoping only good things will continue. It is so good to see both Jesse and Dani doing so much better, the pain seems to be less and it looks like they both are walking better. They are busy finalizing their wedding plans which is coming up fast and we are so grateful for how far they both have come since that past Thanksgiving night. We are so happy to have Dani be part of our family soon and to be able to call her our daughter-in-law. Thanks to everyone who still visits this site and for all your thoughts and prayers over these past several months. We all appreciate it very much!! Darrell and Naomi
Monday, July 1st
Written Jul 1, 2013 9:35pmHi everyone, its hard to believe that July is now upon us and once the 4th comes it seems that summer goes very fast, of course this year was a very late start to summer. Hope everyone is enjoying the warm sunshine we have been having the last few days. Sorry for not updating as much anymore but things have been quite stable for Dani and Jesse. Jesse did have his follow-up appointment with Dr. Nelson today, after his last surgery on his leg which is 3 weeks ago., he said that Dr. Nelson was quite pleased with the progress, and Jesse said that his pain has improved. He still uses the machine at home that helps with the range of motion and now he can start going to Physical Therapy again 2 times per week for another month or so. We were so lucky to have Jesse and Dani spend some time with us at the lake this past week-end, its so nice seeing them walk around even with their limps. Jesse is not using his crutch much anymore. Dani continues with her therapies also and i got to watch her cut with a scissors and do some writing with her right hand again, so that was wonderful to see again. Its all good progress for them both and we are so very happy for them, its been a long 7 months for them but they both have come so far. Hope everyone has a great and safe 4th of July. Thanks again everyone for your love and support. Naomi
