Last night I had given my beautiful little boy his last dose of his Protocol`s Chemotherapy, Danny is finished!
Our hope and prayer is that this monster of Childhood Cancer will never return, Danny is in Remission. It has been a very difficult road to date with many days and nights spent in the Hospital, well over one year. Our Journey is not over, Danny will need long term care for the side effects he has from receiving the very same Medications he needed to save his life. Danny will have a once a month checkup for the next year and a five year follow up, in total, for Childhood Cancer. I am a truly blessed man, I have my son with me today. I will continue to give updates on Danny and will post as often as I can but you can also go to the Facebook page.....Danny Feltwell Jr. to see more and read about Danny.
Thank You for following Danny`s Journey and for all of the kind words and words of encouragement. They always mattered to me and helped in so many ways.

Since our last journal entry Danny has had some not so good moments in our good days. He is always a happy and playful little guy with a fighting spirit.
Danny has had to be hospitalized a few times because of the side effects from chemotherapy. Danny did take a three month break from his IV infusions of Vincristine and in Dec. we started his Iv infusions again at 25% of full dose. Since starting again Danny has had a difficult time with his digestive tract that required a few hospitalizations. Danny received a total of three doses of Vincristine at 25%, Dec, Jan and Feb. Danny had to be hospitalized again on Feb 8th through Feb 11th. After Danny`s last dose of Vincristine (Chemotherapy) Danny was Hospitalized again on Feb 22nd and through today.
We have had to stop all IV infusions of Vincristine (chemotherapy) because of severe side effects, Danny`s little body can no longer handle this chemotherapy. Danny developed Autonomic Neuropathy which is a Neuropathy of the Autonomic Nervous System. Danny cannot digest solid foods nor pass through his digestive tract properly, he has a Dis-Motility or the involuntary muscle movements are either very week or not there. He was hospitalized for a paralysis of his intestinal tract and his colon. We are very hopeful that once the Vincristine toxicity wears off that his digestive tract will return to normal. This may take some time because this is a Neurological Side Effect, the signal from his brain to his digestive tract has been interrupted or at some points in his digestive tract "turned off".
To see Danny today you would never know, he is full of life and very brave little guy. Danny`s laugh is contagious and his loving nature is infectious.
Thank You for following Danny`s progress and care.

This past monthe has been difficult for Danny, he is doing well but we have had 2 Hosp. stays. Danny has had side effects from his infusion of Vincristine for the last few monthes and with the accumulative effects it has been hard for him at times. I like to think of them as a not so good moment in our good days. Because of these side effects Danny's Oncologists have stopped theis Chemotherapy, Infusion of Vincristine, for thee next 2 monthes.
In our breaks from being at AI duPont Danny and I had the chance to go to a Univ. of Delaware Football Game. Danny and I went into the locker room and gave a "high five" to all the players, we were on the field before the game and during thee game we sat in the stands. We only stayed until half time but Danny really enjoyed himself.
This Oct 27the the Make A Wish Foundation is sending Danny and I to Disney World in Orlando, Fla. We are taking Danny's Aunt Natalie and his cousin Addison, Danny really loves them both. Natalie has helped me with Danny long before he was Diagnosed with Childhood Cancer, she started helping me when Danny was born and throughout me being a single father. Addison is just a bit younger than Danny but they get along great and love each other very much, plus Danny can have company that is not a grown up. We are going to stay in Animal Kingdom at Animation Adventures in a Disney Themed room. This trip will be for 6 nights and 7 days!!! I really cannot wait to see his face withe all of the excitement. I will post pictures when we get back. Thank you for following Danny through this Journey.
