Hello,

Not much to report on the medical front but I thought I would update anyway.  Daniel completed his second treatment and so far he has had very little problems with this chemo...yay!  Today, Daniel left for a mission trip to Marion, Arkansas for a week and I am thrilled he has an opportunity to go somewhere that has nothing to do with cancer treatment!!!  He went with a group from Grace Baptist church and they will be setting up a playground and vacation bible school among other things.  I hope they have a successful week!
We went trout fishing for the first time on Friday and had so much fun...thank you Ryan and Audrey!  We caught so many fish and had a relaxing couple days at the White river.  My summer classes started back this past Wednesday and have a test tomorrow already.  I am very ready to graduate in December (Bachelor in Psychology, in case anyone is wondering) and get a job!  We hope Daniel will be able to work again sometime in the near future.  We definitely have been well taken care through this and I would like to especially thank Daniel's parent Vickie and Randy for graciously allowing us (and Maggie, my dog) to share their home while we get on our feet.  I really think when the day comes to move out that they will miss Maggie more than us!!  : )

Now back to the medical news...Daniel is flying back the second week of July for scans.  I hope to go with him since I will only have an online class that month.  PLease pray that this chemo is doing its job and that the spots will be stable or GONE!!  Thank you.

Also, I want to tell you about a young man Patrick Beasley who is also fighting this disease.  Patrick is very sick and needs some serious prayers lifted up for him and his family right now.   Having cancer is expensive. period.  I am going to post on here a portion of his mother's journal and if you feel led to give something to his medical expense fund PLEASE do so.  Any amount will help and will at least take some of the stress and burdens off their shoulders.
Thank you, Erin

He has been sleeping around the clock the pass two weeks. He is still profoundly lymphopenia which means his lymph nodes are not creating new red blood or white blood cells in the normal range. His spleen was removed during the August 10th 2007 surgery so his platlets are at 157x10, the normal lowest end of the range is 160x10 and above. I'm not sure why his spleen being removed makes higher than normal amounts of platelets, I just know it does.
Yesterday, May 27th Patrick had the feeding tube inserted and will remain in the hospital for a couple of days to make sure he tolerates this way of getting nutrition. It will remain in place 6-8 weeks. He also had additional issues addressed, and a meds. review to make sure he's getting and has been taking his medications regularly. I do know that Pat and I had to have a few refilled that he hadn't been taking, but then again he's still waiting for Easter. Chemo brain has taken over for awhile. I miss him horribly!  That is, I miss that loving, sweet, caring, beautiful son of mine.
This sight has been updated so I need to ad the medical trust information as well as retell Patrick's story. I will do so as soon as possible. I need to thank 2 families, and 1 business for making donations that allowed for medication payment's and living expense's the pass 2 months in Texas, as well as transportation and expenses for this week. Patrick's Medical Trust currently has $5.76 in it. Although we have been blessed in multiple ways, I have to reach out again, and at such a horrible time economically. Everyone reading this has made it possible for Patrick to continue fighting for 2 years by all the generous donations. We are so very grateful and I hope each and every person who has helped Patrick knows just how grateful our entire family is. I have received a few fund raising ideas from people in other states, but if there is anyone who can or will just do anything they'd like they have our blessings. I wish I could however time is not something I can get somewhere. At this time we would like to give a HUGE THANK YOU to two families and a businesses that donated to Patrick's fund this pass month, exspecially because both families have a member fighting DSRCT too.

All funds provided to help with Patrick's cancer care go to an "Irrevocable Medical Trust". All donations need to be made to "The Patrick Beasley Medical Trust" & forwarded to.
