Honor Cpl Michael this holiday season with a contribution to CaringBridge. Help us reach our $1 million fundraising goal by Dec. 31. Make your year-end donation now.
Cpl Michael Nicholson was on foot patrol July 6th in Afghanistan. He was attacked by the enemy by an IED explosive and has sustained severe injuries including the loss of three limbs. Michael was flown from Afghanistan to Germany July 7th; once stabilized he will be flown to Bethesda Naval Hospital.
It is hard to believe that a year ago today Michael was warmly
greeted by so many from our community, welcoming him home for his first visit
since his injury.Hopefully in four
weeks he will be home for good.He has
been busy in Bethesda wrapping up his rehab and getting paper work in order for
his departure. However, he was able to
come home for a quick visit last week (48 hours to be exact) to attend a press
conference with ten other wounded warriors.Gary Sinese announced his Lt. Dan Band benefit concert dates for each of these
wounded warriors who will be receiving “smart homes” from his foundation and
the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation.Michael’s concert is scheduled to be held on May 10th at the
Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park.All
proceeds from the concert will help offset the expense of the house.
The year 2013 is getting off to a good start.Michael is getting ready to start a new
chapter in his life, his dad’s health is coming along, his brother just started
a new job and his mom is taking a deep breath.
Your continued prayers and support means so much to us.
