My Story

Cooper is a happy, energetic 3 year old who was diagnosed with stage IV, n-myc amplified Neuroblastoma on November 1, 2005. Having no symptoms or signs, this came as a huge shock to our family when we took him to his 6 month well check and found out he had cancer. To read about his story, please click below.

Last week I participated in Relay for LIfe for the first time ever and it was awesome.  To begin with, Cooper did the survivors walk the first lap around and it was just magical.  HE rode on my shoulders and waved at the people, yelling hello!  They were all cheering for the survivors and Cooper thought it was all for him...! The night was great. I stayed there til about 2:15 am, much later than my normal 9:30 bedtime....We walked a lot and talked a lot.  AT 10 pm, they read all the names of survivors and angels while the lights were out and the luminaries were lit.  We then did a silent lap around the track.  It was great to hear Cooper's name, our angel friend Austin, my Uncle George, my mom's friend Pat, my friend's mom Diane, and my friend's family.
The whole night was amazing and I was glad to participate in it.  I attached a few pictures to check out of cooper and the luminaries.

Some exciting news, Cooper will be on a local news show tomorrow called Lowcountry Live.  He will be on helping to raise awareness for Camp Happy Days.  Cross your fingers that he will not be his crazy shy self and run away from the camera.  It comes on at 10:00 am.  Hopefully we'll be able to view it on the internet so people far away can see it.

Four more days to go until summer officially starts for me! We have a busy one planned this year. I will try to update tomorrow about how the TV show went.

Please keep my Uncle George in your prayers.  He is hospitalized in ICU.  He has an extremely rare type of cancer and isn't doing well.  My aunt and cousins need some special prayers- my cousin is expecting their first baby in 2 weeks and we want my uncle to be here to meet him or her....
Thanks for checking on us!
