Here we are approaching the 4th of July weekend! Today is actually my wife and I's 5th anniversary. Amazing how time flies! It feels like it was just yesterday that we were set sail on our honeymoon. I'm sure you can all relate. Sometimes I wish I could go back and begin from the honeymoon all over again. Would I ever change things if that was the case. Sometimes life just gobbles us up as if we were a snack at noon time. Life has a way of taking us and consuming our minds with all these cobwebs that really don't have any business being there. Yesterday I had to give a presentation to the Rotary. Here I was standing in front of all these "professionals by trade" all men and they were waiting as to what I had to say to them, guys much older, wiser, and more educated. What in the world could I tell them! My mind was spinning....... Then I thought, you know what did Cole teach me the most? Through his life and our experience last year what was it that he really showed me. It all came down to one thing. FACTS OF LIFE! We are all born and we know that date, and secondly we all die and we CERTAINLY do not know that day. As in Cole's life it was only 3 years. Moral of the story, we only get one CHANCE! We can make up anything, but we can't make up for lost time. Lost time to make things right, time to play, laugh, and mostly enjoy the gifts God has given us!
Rotary's slogan is, service above self... guess what- That slogan was taken from, Love your neighbor as yourself! Once again, thanks to the thousands of people out there who truly do walk by faith and not by sight!!
