So..once again this is Cole. Not much to update your guys on. I got my walking knee brace a day late, but now that I have it I'm in love! I can now bend my knee! Doesn't really look like my knee, but only time will help that. In 10 days I get it dialed to 45 degrees so I'm pretty excited for that too. Again won't know anything on the neck fracture and how it's healing until the 17th. I start Physical, Occupational, and Speech therapy next Wednesday. I know sounds like a blast right?! Believe me it is what every 19 year old dreams of doing with their summer. I guess that's what I get for my stupidity. Well until next time, HAPPY 4th OF JULY EVERYONE!!!

    Guess who??!!

Haha..it's Cole. Just thought I'd stop by again and give you guys an update on how things are going here on the homefront in Southern Cali. As of right now all the bleeding on the brain is 100% gone!! yay!! The three skull fractures have not healed but there is a good chance that they might not, but no worries the doctor said that in adults over the age of 18 skull fractures don't heal that often and as long as the fractures are lined up that it doesn't matter, it's as good as healed. And good news, all of my fractures are lined up!! Unfortunately the neurologist couldn't tell us how my neck was healing until he has a CT scan of my neck to compare to the one taken on May 29th. But again don't stress, I'm sure I'll be out of my neck brace a week after he sees the new CT scan which I'm getting on July 17th. I get a walking knee brace on Monday!!! It will be set to 30 degrees and off I go. It will stay at 30 for two weeks and then get moved to 45 for 2 weeks, then 60 for 2, then 90 for 2, then..well we have no idea. Haha. Well enough with the injuries. My days consist of playing Wii games, sometimes beating but mostly losing to my grandparents in Cribbage, playing Scattegories, Facebooking and watching TV, not to mention walking uphill and downhill around our block which is about .4 miles and we usually do it twice a day which is almost a mile!! Kinda weird thinking I used to run about 2 miles a day...O well that time will come soon enough. I can now get in and out of the car by myself. In and out of the armchair by myself, and go to the movies, out to dinner, to church, etc. I am getting stronger everyday and want to thanks everyone for being so wonderful for everything! I want to thank everyone individually but that would take almost a month of continuous typing to do so. Well until next time. Farewell and Godspeed.

Cole is getting stronger everyday! He now can get up out of the recliner that we borrowed pretty much without our help. Showering is quite a chore. Thank God it has been hot. We use a camping shower and sit Cole in a chair with his shorts. We put a trash bag around his leg brace and his neck brace does get wet. When Cole is all done we put him in the hospital bed and change out the neck brace. This is by far the stressfull time for us. His neck can not move. It has been a very tiring and hectic week, trying to get things going with our insurance setting up the right doctors appts. Getting his first set up xrays on his neck and the CT scan on his brain set up. I apologize for those that have called us and I or Jeff have not called back. We are exhausted, from work, taking care of Cole, the house everything else. But, we are so lucky we are home. It could have been so worse. I do not know how many of you know this story, but Cole's uncle Jon read this week that a 21 year old student was at his frat house at the Unversity of Washington and fell 30 to concrete and died. When I was told this I got sick to my stomach and prayed and thanked God for giving us our son back. This could have easily happened to Cole. Cole will have a CT scan on Mon. and will be seeing a neuro onWed.
