Hello to Everyone!
It has been much too long since I have last posted and update about Cody and Izzy Cate. It took me forever just to put up more photos on this web site, now that we can put quite a few up! I didn't go through and edit each one because of how many there were, but they range from Cate's 3rd Birthday to Cody's Pre-school graduation to Easter to random shots of Cody and Izzy Cate. I encourage you all to go over and take a look! The kids have both changed so much.
As for Cody he is doing fantastic! He just graduated from pre-school last week. The program was so sweet and he did such a good job with the songs and all the actions. He even got to be the flag holder for the program. Not a job that he takes lightly. All during the school year this year, we would find him in our bedroom in front of the mirrors reciting the Pledge of Allegiance with his hand over his heart and everything. Precious, that is all I can say. Boy did this year go by fast. He is talking like you wouldn't believe! And we can clearly understand 90% of what he is saying. It is remarkable how much he has picked up in the last year. Julie continued to work with him throughout the year and we continue to give God "thanks" for her. He will continue to receive services this summer with some additional adaptive aquatics and music therapy over the next 8 weeks. We have put up a play system in our back yard for him to be able to play on. In a short while, we will also be adding a privacy fence to our back yard. Cody loves to be a little explorer and has managed to get away for a few sabbaticals this spring. We want him to be safe and we want some piece of mind so up goes the fence! Honestly we couldn't be prouder of the boy that Cody is becoming. He is so pleasant to be around and very mindful of others. Well of course that is if he has had his nap!!!!
Izzy Cate is growing and maturing right before our very eyes! We had something miraculous happen at therapy over at CCHS in Sioux Falls last week. Cate walked all over the CCHS gym with her KidWalk. It was absolutely amazing and I was crying and her PT was crying and of course I didn't have my video camera along that day. But it was marvelous. I mean she still was in her KidWalk but she was reciprocal stepping like you wouldn't believe. And we have had her out in our garage and she has still been doing it here as well. She loves to watch Cody in his motorized Jeep and she giggles and tries to get him. He is such a good motivator for her. God still is in the business of miracles people! For everyone who thought it wouldn't be possible, "everything is possible with our God." Cate has also been going to a local daycare two mornings a week. She is fascinated by all of the kids there. Actually all of the little girls that go there seem to be quite fascinated with Cate. She is verbalizing so much more now that she has been around so many other kids. She has a wonderful para-professional named Jennifer that does just an excellent job with her. Cate too will be doing some extra PT/Pool Therapy/ST and Music thereapy this summer. We are anticipating good things this summer for her as she continues to be so interested in learning and engaging in so many different activities.
As you can see we are really looking forward to the summer and all that is in store for our family. It will be busy, but fulfilling for all of us. Aaron and I continue to stand in amazement of all that both kids have accomplished in their short little lives. And I'm sure we don't even see all the eternal things that God is accomplishing for eternity through these two precious kids. We hope that everyone has a safe and happy summer and I promise to update more often especially with some new photos. Thank you for all of you who still check in here with us.
Hugs from the Fite Family!
