I finally received a call back from the Children's Mercy Hematology/Oncology Clinic. I left a message last Monday requesting the results of Claire's AFP level (this is the tumor marker). The nurse reported to me that it is up from 12 to 15.4. This is not what I was expecting to hear. I hope we are not celebrating too soon. Dr. Shore said that we would check it next time she goes in for her appointment in September, then we will will know which way it will trend...up or down. He does not seem worried and I am trying not to overreact. But I feel like someone just sucked the wind out of my sails. And add to that, the people at the License Bureau are jerks! I will not go into it as I would be venting for a long time, but any amount of time dealing with them will knock a person down if they are already headed that way! Claire is at Grandma's house for the day, so I can pack for our trip and deal with the jerks. They probably would have been nicer to me if Claire had been with me! I will be glad to get the car loaded and travel north for a much needed weekend of rest and relaxation with family.
