We are having a family get together today and am looking forward to that. This year all the kids will be there and that makes it even better. As we enjoy the festivities I will be thanking Jesus for looking over us and keeping us safe over the last year!
This last year has provided Chris with lots of improvements: He worked on the WII to gain his balance better, left the walker behind then later left the cane behind. He joined Snap fitness where the manager set him up with a full workout including both weighs and treadmill, he can now stay by himself for a few hours at a time (as long as he does not try to cook anything), he has been set up with a life link system, and his walking has gotten much faster. The one thing that has not changed is the fact that he does not feel cold so we once again need to watch him so he does not go outside without a coat (I have even caught him going out without shoes). He has a better memory then me but at times will get on an obsession about something (this is minor). He always has a smile on his face and I love that about him.
Joining Snap has helped Chris because now that he has been walking on the treadmill I have noticed that he walks much faster than he used to. We do not get there as often as we should but we try for at least 2 times a week but we should be going more. It is not his fault and I need to try a little harder to get him there. His pants are getting baggier but we have not weighed him to see if he lost weight. (I don't like scales - if you feel good then all is good).
He still bowls for us as a sub on our league and is trying to figure his game out, but at least he can do it which is more than we thought he would be able to do a year ago. He plays on our Pool league and is doing better each week.
I want to take a moment to thank everyone that supports us and a special thank you to a couple of wonderful angels named Rosie and Nicole. We could not have done this without all the support.
Cherish every moment you have with family and friends because things can change in an instant. Have a wonderful Christmas and stay safe in your travels!
The bond that links your true family is not one of blood, but of respect and joy in each others life.
