Christie’s Story

Site created on November 20, 2008

Hi my name is Christie and I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma on November 4, 2008. I am 42 years old and have a very loving husband, Kevin and two children, Kelsey (14) and Liam (3) oh and I can not forget about St Patrick (Paddy) our Jack Russell (8).

Last year May 2010, I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins.All of this has happened really fast! I got my port in last Friday and have had many test (scans, blood work, lung test, heart ECHO) and the worst ..... the bone marrow biopsy done on Monday, that was awful! Now here we go....Today I go for my first Chemo Treatment and that coctail mix will be ABVD (that is the first letter of each med that will be in the chemo, so I have been told while I have been in a complete fogg as all of this has been happening.) I am not really nervous, or should I say not right at this moment but that is subject to change. Well my family needs to be woken up now to start this beautiful day, but I will let you know how things are going later. Thanks for listening! Christie

Hi it’s Christie. I apologize for the long time off here and not keeping you all up to date. Well, a lot has happened since the last time I was on here, too much to go into now. In that window of time I had my Bone Marrow Transplant, which did not work, and then a very aggressive chemo regimen I just finished. There was whole lot of shit in between. I am going to make this short because it still hasn’t hit me yet. The chemo has not phased my cancer tumors. Pretty much I have reached the end of my fight. It has been a long 14 years of battling the beast. I have been given 6-12 months to live. I knew that before seeing him. I am not scared of dying and going home. I am sad about leaving all my family, friends and dogs. I just want to live the rest of my life happy and laughing. Thank you all for the love, support, and prayers through the years. I love you
