Journal

Well my last day of work at Muhlenberg Hospital was July 1st. As hard as it was to get up at 5:30am five days each week and as much as I hated working every other weekend and all the holidays, I do miss my job and all my friends. I loved being a delivery room nurse. I will get a severance for a short period of time and then I will go on unemployment.

I did get to see the seizure specialist, Dr. Ma. She switched around my meds. I am much more alert but now have to deal with new, weird side effects. I get numbness in my fingertips, pins and needles in the balls of my feet, knees, and tongue that can sometimes be quite painful. The migraines have improved.

I still have seizures. They are usually related to sleep deprivation or stress. Fortunately my MRI's are still normal, the most recent being July 3rd. Because it has been a full year without any tumor growth I can now wait 3 months for my next MRI instead of the regular 2 months.

I am finally going to have my hair cut next week. For those of you who are close to me, you know this is not going to be easy for me. One of the hardest struggles for me has been losing my hair. I lost all the hair on the top of my head from ear to ear due to radiation treatments. Most of it has grown back. It is still thin in the middle and I wear scarves to protect my scalp from the sun. Hopefully the girl who cut Janice's hair, which looks awesome, can do something with mine. Maybe I will be able to put up a new picture.

Wish me luck.....

Love, Cheryl
