Hello everyone... A quick note to say that Chemo is going good so far for Chelsea. No major nausea yet so we are grateful of that. She is having a bit of a tummy ache during the night but I'm thinking that is more hunger pains because of her lack of eating much during the day. At least that is what I am hoping. On Monday they did scans and ultrasounds again on Chelsea to get a baseline to see how the new chemo is working. The right lung (where surgery just happened) shows no new growth in the remaining tumors. They are hopeful that it is scar tissue tumor spots left and not actual living tumors. The left lung also shows no new growth in the smaller tumor spots but the largest tumor which they are looking at taking out in November has tripled in size. It went from peanut to the size of a golf ball in only a month. The oncologists are pleased that it grew as we have been off chemo for more than a month and it gives them a strong baseline to judge if this new chemo formula is going to work and carry her into the stem cell transplant in December. The ultrasound still shows that her abdomen where it all started is clear and so is her left kidney. Thank the LORD for that news. All in all we are pleased and just praying that Chelsea can tolerate the new chemo mix with few complications. As for me I get my new cast next week - still can't walk on it but hopefully I can heal enough that it doesn't hurt when my foot is below waist level. Plus... I'm getting awful tired of baths. I love my shower!!! And the wheelchair can go back then too hopefully. Please continue to pray for Chelsea to have strength and an appetite so we can fatten her up or at least keep some weight on her. Add in those prayers that the cavity fairies stay away!! Her tooth brushing time is hit and miss and since our nighttime routine is messed up with me in a cast I'm struggling to get Jason to have her brush each day. :o) I'll let you know more as the week goes on.. Blessings to you and your families. ~Alison
