Charlotte’s Story

Hi!  My name is Charlotte Ava McManimon.  I was born on April 26th at 8:18 pm.  I was able to go home for a couple days and hang out with my big sister Elliott along with Mom and Dad.  We ended up back at the hospital because I was looking a little Jaundice.  Mom and I were about to be released when one of the doctors noticed something a little odd.  They ran some tests and noticed that I had some heart problems.  I was then rushed to Childrens in a neat little baby pod with
mom close behind chasing my ambulence.  It was at Childrens that they ran further tests and discovered that I had an Unbalanced AV canal along with a couple of holes in my heart.  I'm one in a million!

Latest Journal Update

Charlie's a star and other news

It's been a long time since I have posted, and it seems a little strange to be writing on here after so long, but we wanted to keep you up to date on some Charlie related news.
Charlotte has received her star at Children's! Once you reach a certain point of donations in honor of a child the child's name is commemorated with a star of recognition. This can be done in the hospital lobby as well as in the Ronald McDonald house depending on where the donations are given. Charlie's star is at the Ronald McDonald house and it is beautiful! I asked for her star to be put next to her friend Andrew's who had the same heart condition and was on the cardiac floor much of the time that Charlie was. He would come by her room and blow her kisses to make her feel better. He was such a sweet boy! Now their two stars are next to each other, which makes my heart smile. I attached a picture, but it is a little hard to see, if I get a chance I'll take another and post it as well.

In other news, it is that time of year again. The Heartbeat 5000 is coming up in June and registration is open. We hope you can join us in raising money for the heart clinic at Children's, below is the information. Thanks for all of your support and love continually for our family. We appreciate it so much!
