Charles "Chuck"’s Story

Welcome to our CaringBridge site. We've created it to keep friends and family updated. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement during this time when it matters most.

Chuck has recently been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer that has brought him back to Indianapolis from Useppa Island for treatment and to be with his family and many friends.

Please join me and share your thoughts with Chuck. He has accepted this challenge with courage and determination to see this through one day at a time.

Around Thanksgiving, Chuck Berry was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer which has metasticized to his liver. Chuck and Paula have left Useppa Island and are living up in Indianapolis with Chuck's sister Katie McKinney.   He is under the care of IU Hospital in Indianapolis.

In an effort to make sure that everyone receives the exact information at the same time, we are using the Caring Bridge.  We will try our hardest to ensure that all information is sent out in a timely manner.

Please feel free to leave messages on here for him/them and we will make sure that all messages get to them.

One final note to all of my family and firneds

As the days have gone by, I have had comfort in all of your cards and emails.

All entries to the CaringBridge are being formated into a book that will be given to Chuck's granddaughters, Madilyn and Morgan Parker. If you have something special to add please take a moment and include a memory or story of your experiences with Chuck.

I sincerely appreciate your support as I continue to sort through this new dimension of life for me without Chuck by my side. Each and every one of you have given me strength and courage to see that the sun will  rise and set while processing  this reality.

"IT IS WHAT IT IS".

Thank you!

. Chuck left us way too soon but he gave me some great advice along the way.

He told me to be kind, gentle, respectful and honest.

He loved Andi,  Pike Township Fire Department and Useppa Island.  It was that simple.

I am very proud to have been Chuck's wife and partner for over 30 years.

Be safe out there and give it your best.

Until our paths cross again.....
