Chad Wang's Journal
Written Mar 4, 2014 9:21pmThings are still going really well. Chad had his last physiologist appointment at the end of January. He wanted to see Chad to make sure work was going well. Again he was pleased with how far he has come. He told us "In all my years I haven't seen anyone heal as well as you have." With that being said, Chad has one more less doctor! On March 21st Chad will go see his neurologist for his medication he is on. He is on two medications. One is a seizure med that helps with headaches and also is a mood stabilizer. The other med is because his platelets are low from being on the seizure med. She wanted him on the these for one year after his injury, we will see what she says! Hard to believe its coming up on a year already! A few weeks ago Chad returned to his bowling league. His first night back, first game he bowled was a 244! He came home pretty happy. Last Saturday he joined the boys in a 9 pin tournament. He is signed up to bowl another 9 pin tournament in April. I'm thinking he is enjoying bowling! A week ago Chad went to A1 archery to shoot bow with Craig. He is wrestling with the kids and picking on them again. He is working on his truck a lot lately, which isn't a good thing but it is to me. For Chad to be able to do all these things again make me feel so blessed. It is the little things we forget about, which are the big things when you look back. Those little things were what I missed the most and they are starting to come back! Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers throughout all of this! Love to you all!
Written Dec 20, 2013 11:12pmLife is still wonderful and very busy! Chad went to the ophthalmologist and his rehab Dr on November 26th. Both appointments went very well! The ophthalmologist did another visual field test. They wanted to make sure no disease formed from the trauma to his eye. Everything looks good and they said he's still ok to drive! His pupil is still missed shaped but it looks better then his appointment 5 months ago. Chad's next appointment with the ophthalmologist is in 1 year! After that we headed to his main rehab Dr, the last time Chad seen her was in September. Once again she was pleased with her patient! She told Chad he could go back to 40 hours! He also has no restriction, of course as long as he uses safety first. She doesn't need to see Chad for 6 months! His Dr and therapist told us if Chad were to get another head injury he would not heal from it. Chad has to always think safely, put his head first. We are so blessed Chad is healing so well. You never know the out come of a TBI, that is the hardest part. Is Chad the same person from the day before his accident? No, but he is here and he is still healing. Ten years ago today Chad and I were married. We have been through a lot and of course 2013 topped it all off but it has only made us stronger. I'm so thankful to share another anniversary with Chad and another Christmas as a family. Life is a gift, enjoy life. Thank you all again for your thoughts and prayers! The Wangs wish you all a Merry Christmas and a happy healthy new year!
Written Oct 31, 2013 9:44pmHappy Halloween everyone! I have some wonderful news to share, Chad had his LAST therapy session yesterday! His therapist talked with him and asked how things were going working 22 hours and of course Chad said it was fine. He told Chad he has had a remarkable recovery for the injury he had. Then the big "I think today will be our last session if thats ok with you." Chads rehab Dr and the therapist decided to increase his hours up to 30 starting next week. They want him to try it for a couple weeks. If Chad's not tired or fatigue then its time to return full time! He also reminded Chad that he is still healing and will for a while so still take it easy, rest when you feel the need to rest. Chad still has to see the ophthalmologist to make sure his eye is not forming a disease. His appointment with the rehab Dr is set for Nov 26th. I would like to thank all the therapist that have worked with Chad during his journey. Chad wouldn't be who he is today without all of you! And of course to all our friends, family and people that heard of Chad's story and followed his caring bridge. All your thoughts and prayers mean so much to us and have come a long way! We are very fortunate for Chads amazing recovery, god is good. Thanks again everyone, I will continue to update you all! Keep sending prayers, god bless!
