Chad Wang's Journal
Written 9 hours agoLife is still wonderful and very busy! Chad went to the ophthalmologist and his rehab Dr on November 26th. Both appointments went very well! The ophthalmologist did another visual field test. They wanted to make sure no disease formed from the trauma to his eye. Everything looks good and they said he's still ok to drive! His pupil is still missed shaped but it looks better then his appointment 5 months ago. Chad's next appointment with the ophthalmologist is in 1 year! After that we headed to his main rehab Dr, the last time Chad seen her was in September. Once again she was pleased with her patient! She told Chad he could go back to 40 hours! He also has no restriction, of course as long as he uses safety first. She doesn't need to see Chad for 6 months! His Dr and therapist told us if Chad were to get another head injury he would not heal from it. Chad has to always think safely, put his head first. We are so blessed Chad is healing so well. You never know the out come of a TBI, that is the hardest part. Is Chad the same person from the day before his accident? No, but he is here and he is still healing. Ten years ago today Chad and I were married. We have been through a lot and of course 2013 topped it all off but it has only made us stronger. I'm so thankful to share another anniversary with Chad and another Christmas as a family. Life is a gift, enjoy life. Thank you all again for your thoughts and prayers! The Wangs wish you all a Merry Christmas and a happy healthy new year!
Written Oct 31, 2013 9:44pmHappy Halloween everyone! I have some wonderful news to share, Chad had his LAST therapy session yesterday! His therapist talked with him and asked how things were going working 22 hours and of course Chad said it was fine. He told Chad he has had a remarkable recovery for the injury he had. Then the big "I think today will be our last session if thats ok with you." Chads rehab Dr and the therapist decided to increase his hours up to 30 starting next week. They want him to try it for a couple weeks. If Chad's not tired or fatigue then its time to return full time! He also reminded Chad that he is still healing and will for a while so still take it easy, rest when you feel the need to rest. Chad still has to see the ophthalmologist to make sure his eye is not forming a disease. His appointment with the rehab Dr is set for Nov 26th. I would like to thank all the therapist that have worked with Chad during his journey. Chad wouldn't be who he is today without all of you! And of course to all our friends, family and people that heard of Chad's story and followed his caring bridge. All your thoughts and prayers mean so much to us and have come a long way! We are very fortunate for Chads amazing recovery, god is good. Thanks again everyone, I will continue to update you all! Keep sending prayers, god bless!
Written Oct 21, 2013 9:59pmThings are still going well with Chad. He returned to work for three days a week for four hours a day. First week was tiring for him, by the end of his second week he was doing really well. He went in for follow-up with his speech therapist on Oct 9 to see how work was going. His speech therapist was pleased and felt chad was able to work more hours. Oct 15 Chad had a follow-up with a different rehab Dr. They haven't seen eachother since Chad was inpatient, Chad didn't remember to much of him. Of course the Dr remembered Chad, he was amazed how well he is healing. He agreed with the therapist to increase Chads hours at work, so Chad is is starting to work 22 hours a week! Chad was getting home from work and finding all kinds of things to do at home, so I think it will be good for him to work more hours to keep him busy. Hand therapy suggested him to a different therapy where they work more with things he would do at work. The Dr felt it wasn't necessary with him since he's back to work and working would be therapy for his hand. So more greats news! Chad will see his therapist next week to see how work is going, then they will slowly increase his hours. He will see his rehab Dr again in one month. Things are finally starting to feel normal for us. Appointments are slowing down and back to everyday craziness with school and kids, but I'll take that! Tomorrow will mark seven months since Chads injury. Hard to believe how far he has come in seven months, I thank god everyday to have Chad here with us and helping him heal.I want to thank you all for opening your hearts to our family in time of need. You all have played a big part in Chads recovery. I'm thankful for each and everyone of you! Your positive thoughts and prayers have kept our family going, it wouldn't have been possible without all of you! Thanks again!
