Cassidy Huff's Journal
Written Nov 18, 2013 2:04pmHi Everyone,
We have been so busy these last few weeks!
Ella had a slumber party, Cassidy went to 6th grade camp and we ended this last weekend with two concerts. One in person the other online. I can't even begin to tell you how amazingly healing and wonderful music is for our family. We were blessed to be able to go see Mycle Wastman and Marc Broussard. These artists are simply amazing. If you get a chance look them up and go buy their music. We are so thankful that we have some amazing people in our lives that make some of these events happen for our family. And we continue to add more to our wonderful circle of friends. I am continually amazed at the way music unites people.
It's nice to not have to worry about the next appointment or surgery at this point. For now we are able to enjoy the holidays and don't have any appointments until January. We will be meeting with our team in January to discuss upcoming steps about future surgeries and what route to go. I will update when I know more.
Thank you for continuing to follow our story.

Today is Ella's 8th birthday!!!
We are so proud of the amazing young lady she is becoming.
Ella is in 2nd grade this year and doing so well. She is an avid reader, loves to sing and play and loves her sister. She's witty, smart and such a fashionista.
Couldn't be prouder of our girl!!
Student Body President
Written Nov 6, 2013 11:37pmHi Everyone,
HUGE NEWS tonight!
A mere 3 weeks after surgery, Cassidy is officially the new Student Body President!!
About a week before surgery, she was frantically writing her speech for tryouts. A week and a day after her 30th surgery she went through the try out process at school in front of a panel of teachers. Low and behold she was on to the next round. Then the push was on to campaign, get posters made, buttons passed out, chat with fellow classmates and polish that speech.
Yesterday was the election. From all of the feedback I heard from different staff, she did a fantastic job during her speech, commanded the mic and stage well and it all came straight from her. No parent help on the speech what so ever. This was an entire school vote about 400 students!
Today I happened to be helping at school and waited around to hear the results. SHE DID IT!! Cassidy is in her final year this year and it is a real testament that she won. She is over the moon and honestly as parents we couldn't be more proud of her.
The photo is from today right after she was told of her election!
Congratulations Cassidy! You Rock!
