Tears in my eyes as I sign this...We are so blessed to have Casey and Joran still progressing when the professionals were ready to give up.  This morning our pastor talked about those who have suffered loss and still grieve.  Jim leaned over and said, it could have been Joran.  But Joran and Casey are persistent, running the race for the long haul - and I trust God and His promises - they will prevail, God will prevail, and may their healing ultimately be to God's GLORY! Hallelujah!

Thank you for the updates. We are so glad to hear that Casey is receiving a change of care through The Shepherd Center. So many people are praying for his healing. Please be encouraged that God is at work in and through Casey. The love that people are expressing to you is proof that none of this is in vain. Be of good cheer and persevere. You are a blessing to so many of us.

I found a few Bible verses (promises) that I hope will encourage you:

James 5:16b "The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results." According to 1 Cor 1:30, Jesus has made us righteous.

and,

Matthew 18:20 "For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them."

Hang in there friends.

Barry and Kathy, you know already that you are in our prayers every day, for healing, for strength and comfort.  We are so thrilled that Casey is back at Shepherd, and we are trusting in God's goodness to make new and wonderful things happen.  Our friend Stan Hill is in Atlanta, and he is one of the most powerful prayer warriors I know.  He will try to contact you and come to see Casey and lay hands on him.  The book of James says that the prayers of the righteous will be heard.  It also says that laying on of hands by the elders will heal.  Please make Stan welcome!  He is a kind and gentle and good friend of ours. I am praying that this new treatment will bring Casey home whole!

CASEY!! I went on a little roadtrip this weekend & while on my drive, I popped in your CD that our cousin Sean made for you & WOW those songs are so uplifting and powerful! In all those lyrics, my mind was envisioning you and your smile and how hard of a worker you are! You never give up and live each and every day to reach your goals! I just want to give you a big hug right now for all the great things you are doing and will be doing in the near future :) You have all my love and support CJ!

I've been thinking about you a lot Casey, I always do but lately it's been a whole bunch. I'm reading this book right now called "Chicken Soup for the Nurse's Soul" as I anxiously await for my hopeful acceptance into UF's Nursing Program. One of the quotes in this book caught my attention & I wanted to share it with you. It read:

God does not ask your ability or your inability. He asks only your availability.

I wanted to see where this quote came from and I found a blog post that explained how beautiful & true this statement really is:

“So why doesn’t He ask our ability or inability? He knows what we’re capable of, but more than that, He sees our ability through the lens of His partnership with us. If we’re covered by Christ’s blood, He sees the ability, grace, and power we are covered in, and in conjunction with the gifts He has given us, there is nothing we cannot do. But we must trust that power and grace; we must stay under His covering; we have to rely on His facts rather than our feelings.

“God knows you better than anyone else, so you can trust that if He’s asked you to do something, you are capable of it. His will won’t lead you where His grace can’t keep you. Your part is to trust, obey, and rely on Him. Listen to facts, not your feelings. Feelings are based on perception; facts are based on truth.”

As much as I am anxious about whether or not I will have the opportunity to study these next 2 years to be a Gator Nurse, I know you are itching and anxious yourself to be move and communicate more and we all know you are highly capable of doing so and enduring further! Keep opening your heart to God while you work every day to reach your goals, you are doing an amazing job Casey! Everything is falling into place with time.

I heard your Dad and your Mom came up to the property last weekend and had a great time! I wasn’t able to make it but I really want to get you up there one day with us very soon! I would love to make a trip up to Stuart this summer to hang out with you too! If this weather ever gets any less rainy, we could do a pool day at your house with island music and everything, I’m so excited! I love you so much CJ

The other day I opened up a fortune cookie and the little fortune inside read "If you have hope you have everything".  I immediately thought of you Casey and the whole family and all of your friends.  It is hard to imagine that such a fortune could be lucky.  But if you chew on it for a while you realize it is sweet!  I'm holding on to it and it makes me smile. Hope it makes you smile too! :) Love you!
