92.3 WIL's 17th Annual "Country Cares For Kids" Radiothon to benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital will take place from 6am to 6pm on August 20th and 21st and again on August 22nd from 6am to 10am. During this time, you may call in to make a donation that will benefit the children of St. Jude. If you would like to call or donate please mention Carson's name. The web site for the radio station is http://www.toastedrav.com/section/wilI spoke on the phone this morning with Cornbread the radio announcer and you should be able to hear my interview on all three days, but I'm not sure what time. As most of you know, St. Jude is very important to our family. If you would like to donate in Carson's name, the amount will be added to Carson's tribute account at St. Jude where he will get a plaque in his name on the wall. Thanks to Chesterfield Elementary, Carson has one plaque already on the walls of St. Jude. Carson's tribute account number is 18757044 if you decide to donate. There are so many children that are suffering from cancer. If you click on the radio web site you can hear the radio live from anywhere. Also, there is a great story about St. Jude and our good friends the Devins. Since that taping Claire had been home for about six months and then relapsed. Please pray that her new treatment will knock out the cancer for good. I have many other friends that could use some extra prayers. Jaydon Rogers, Quincy Russell, and Evan Thomason are all having scans this week. Please pray for great scan results, and that the parents have some peace this week as scan weeks can be very difficult. Thomas Lambert has broken his leg in two places, the chemo he is on can make his bones brittle. Natalie Tanner has had complications from her scans, and although they were clear, she has since had a few surgeries to correct a problem. Instead of being at St. Jude for three days, they have been there for over two weeks. David Moore is in ICU with an infection and high fevers. Two sweet little boys are ending treatment, Camden Marshky and Caleb Parsons( little caleb). Camden has become very sick recently and will be going home soon on hospice. Caleb my wonderful neighbor at St. Jude, recently had scans showing increased tumor. They have decided not to try another treatment as his quality of life would diminish and there is virtually no hope that anything else medically will help. All these children are in GOD's hands, and I pray that they all have miraculous healing. Onto Carson and Preschool. He is really enjoying his time at preschool, and is excited to go everyday. The first day he was having a lot of fun playing with all the toys, but when it was time to move onto another activity, he wasn't so happy. He went over and got his back pack and darted out of the room looking for me. The next day went a little better, although there were still a few tears and he wanted to leave a couple times. It is hard for him because he has been with me for the last 16 months almost 24/7. To be in a new environment without me and then to have certain times when he has to move from one activity to another, is a little over whelming for him. But, each day the teachers say he is getting a little better and adjusting to the routine. I am thrilled that he enjoys going and wants to go back everyday. Derek is absolutely loving preschool. The poor thing really hasn't had many situations to play with other kids over the last 16 months, he was either with Grammy Brundege, or me and Carson. I think because of what Carson has gone through, Derek is more caring and gentle with other children. Derek loved to see Little Caleb at St. Jude and would always go up to him and give him a sweet gentle hug. A little girl at preschool was crying, so he went up to her and patted her back and tried to make her feel better. As for me having time to myself... actually it is a little lonely. I was sad the first day to say goodbye to all the kids. I am sure in time I will get over that and will enjoy having time to workout, run errands, and especially get groceries without "help". I am tired and ready for bed, so I hope the update doesn't have to many mistakes or rambling, but I really wanted to get the info out about the radioathon. Last but not least, please continue to pray for protection over Carson. He started getting a clear runny nose, so I am hoping he isn't getting sick already. He was throwing up Saturday night, but I think it was because he didn't drink enough when he took his chemo pills. Sunday and Monday he was fine. Thank you for continuing to follow Carson and our family, the guest book notes and messages are wonderful to read. God Bless, Debbie
