And happy birthday to Carolyn!  I'm sorry I missed the day...

So good to hear an update; I know hearing her dad's voice was a treat.  And your backpacking sounds wonderful, Jim...needed, too.

Our best to you both...we still treasure the candle lantern Carolyn and you gave us for our wedding, 6 years ago...

I am so glad to hear about how things are going.  I think of you both often and even though we don't see much of each other, you both are on my mind frequently.  Jim, we always enjoy when you stop into our shop for a quick bite.  Big hugs to you both.  God bless and we look forward to slow steady progress reports.

Jim and Carolyn,  It is such a blessing to get your journal on what is happening in Carolyn's life.  We have many friends that always ask how is Carolyn and what is the progress; We always encourage them to Pray as God has a plan for each of our lives.
The Prayer chain at Barbee Memorial Presbyterian Church knows Carolyn and is always glad to get an update from your Journal.
Marilyn and I continue to enjoy the retirement or semi-retirement as I still work 15 hours per week for Home Instead.  I really enjoy what I do and the folks that I meet through Home Instead Senior Care.  Marilyn continues to be involved with all types of Art and Crafts plus is a fan of the Excelsior Springs Cultural Guild that Carolyn was President of many years ago.
When you are out and driving Carolyn around Excelsior Springs give me a call and Marilyn and I will meet you at the door of Creekside Inn B & B as it has easy access for those in wheel chairs.  We will all share a few laughs and stir the memory pot at the same time.
We love you both and you are in our Prayers.

Glad to hear about progress and your upcoming job.
Does Carolyn still have a lot of friends visiting to help with her memories of who she is and what made her happy?
I hope so. I wish I was closer to you and would still love to make some time.
We all get so busy in our own lives that we forget what and who are important to us.
Of course having to make money to live on and paying the bills is must especially in this society where we as you said so correctly we will probably need it the most when we have it the least.
I will keep working towards time to visit you both
Love Anja.

Jim, we're still waiting for a time when we can talk. Sam's been in Berkeley where the accelerator people have been introducing him to potential investors. There have been frequent calls to provide assistance (like sending him his passport). My recently widowed friend and former singing partner calls every other day (and I keep up with her). She's not doing well. My brother is in the worst shape imaginable and is finally wearing down, esp. upon discovering that his wife had been colluding with a emergency homeless shelter manager to give him the hope that he would have work with them as a fundraiser. Good thing we didn't have the money to fix his power chair! He was given a contract and could sue but he's realizes that the everyone means well. Your posts about Carolyn are inspiring and we will definitely try to get up there to see you this summer. The new house is finally livable and we will have a guest room soon (because Sam wants and needs his own place). From your post it's possible to see the best time to call. Please expect one soon because Sam will be headed to Europe. Thanks for being who you are and doing what you do. We love you both and are rooting for you. Jeff

Jim & Carolyn, It is good to have you both back in Excelsior Springs.  Glad that Carolyn made the trip in good shape.  We love you both and wish you the very best in your continued progress.I agree with your input on Medicare and it is to bad that your clear explanation could not be given to those in the State Legislator who continue to fight against allowing Medicare in Missouri.  We will pay for their determination to fight to keep medicare underfunded for many generations out of our own retirement funds.  We will continue to pray for both of you as Carolyn continues to improve each and every day.Bob and Marilyn

Jim & Carolyn.   "Blessings to you both"Early this morning while Marilyn was just waking up she rolled over and starting telling me about a dream that she had about Carolyn.  She exclaimed to me how you and Carolyn were about town and Carolyn was talking to people and how she had a great conversation with her.We are so excited for you both and we will continue to pray that Carolyn will improve each day.  It has always been a real blessing to us to be you and Carolyn's friends. We look forward to seeing her again, soon.
Love from the Gerdes family.
