Good morning,
If you check photos , you will see Carol's coupe in front of Meisters in Scandia. My friends Butch and Linda took the maiden voyage with me last night. We got all the way there and home [6 miles total] with no problems. I also drove it to coffee at 4:30 this morning. I came home with about 10 pounds of bugs all over the front , but my sticky valve let loose and now I have a V8 and not a V7.
I am leaving for Memphis for my niece Wendy's daughters wedding on Saturday. I will be stopping in Iowa City tonight to have dinner with my friends Brian and Sandy. If things work out , I will be stopping in Iowa to play golf with friends on Monday and back to Minnesota on Tuesday.
We have some more sad news in our family. My sister Marlenes husband Frank has been diagnosed with lung cancer. He is undergoing more tests today and will probably be having surgery soon. They are working on having this at Mayo in Rochester MN . Will keep you informed as to what happens. Please keep Marlene and Frank in your thoughts.
We still have no word on Carol's marker and internment. It should be coming soon.
Her bench is installed and some very nice landscaping has been done around it. This is thanks to Stacy and John , Todd and the staff at Chisago Lakes Golf Course. My thanks to all. Her plaque should be here in about a week and we are going to have a "bench warming party" when it is installed.
Well , some day I hope I can have totally good news , but it just doesn't seem to be in the cards right now.
Take care,
Doug
