Hi all- Sorry it has been so long since my last up-date, but in a way that is good news...no news is good news...

Caroline continues to make her trips to Boston for her radiation treatments. Kathy has been driving lately because Caroline feels better in the car. She leaves early in the morning to avoid traffic and is usually home around 2 p.m.. Caroline received her "Big" dose of chemo-the overnighter- last week in Boston. She is doing o.k. but the mouth sores are getting worse and they are extending down her throat. The docs have decided to give her a couple days off this week to rest-seeing that she is heading into the "low count" time. This is where we need prayers....she already has mouth sores-that are pretty bad and uncomfortable, when her white blood cells get killed off by the "big" chemo she had 7-10 days ago- she will have HUGE potential for infection-we ALL need to pray that she can get through this period , and avoids a major infection. The nurses say to expect fevers-it's the body's way of telling us that it is fighting-but it is very important for Caroline to rest and relax over the next couple of days. Just writing this makes me so sad because it is so easy to say (write) but I can't imagine how Caroline.....and the whole O'Neil family feels. Pray ....thats what we all have to do.

O.K. enough depressing stuff-look at that picture up there-what a trooper!!!! I can tell you one thing , with some extra days off I'm sure Caroline cant wait to get to her Nanny and Grampy's pool. From what Kathy tells me it's her favorite spot to be.

Jack is busy these days playing summer baseball-right now in this heat It is the last thing I can even imagine doing but he is having fun and that is what is important. The games are at Sprague field in Narragansett on Sunday nights. Football season starts August !st-what a little athalete Jackie Boy is turning into- Go Jack Go!!!

This Friday afternoon The QHL Foundation is holding a golf tournament with partial proceeds going to the Caroline fund. Just want to send out a pre-thank you to everyone involved in playing and planning this event. I think it should be a great time. If anyone is curious about QHL-it stands for Quahog Hockey League, and the Kiernan family-plays a big part of this foundation-Thanks Kiernans!!!

I hope you all feel up-dated-please keep Caroline and the O'Neil family in your thoughts and prayers. It is going to be a difficult next couple of days-they all really need us- now more than ever!!!! Kathy says about three more weeks of treatment-making room for a couple of breaks- 8 more official treatments to go. The goal is to be done by Jacks birthday- August 2nd- I'm sure they all can't wait!!!!!

Stay Cool!!

Peace and Love-Peg
