I’m in tears, I’m so happy. Yesterday, had my 2nd infusion of Carboplatin to tackle the recurrence of primary peritoneal cancer. I’d been told to wait until after at least 2 infusions on this round before looking for improvement in my lab results. I also feared I’d have to skip yesterday’s infusion due to a bad cold I brought home from Amsterdam. But I was judged well enough for chemo; and, as always, blood was drawn before the infusion.
The PA just called with results. The benchmark CA125 tumor marker, which had gone from above-normal 44 in December to 215 in March and soared to 327 in April, was—ta-DAH!!!—down to 165 yesterday, after my 1st infusion last month. A promising sign!
Of course our sail, Vienna to Amsterdam, was fabulous. Doug & I both came home nursing bad colds, but it was worth it. If you’re my Facebook friend, you’ve already seen dribs & drabs about our trip.
