I'm sorry the numbers aren't going the way that was hoped for.  And not having the doctors/staff that have become such an integral part of your life is tough at this time.  I pray that some good things come your way again with treatments.  Know that you are supported in my thoughts and prayers.

Hi Carole, I keep meaning to come look at your site and then loose the address.  I usually have 3 -5 pages open at a time so it is a wonder I can find anything at all.  Your story and all the information you provide with it is really an inspiration for my mother who I will tell about the Jewish cancer link, I'm sure she will find it very interesting as we have an ancestor by the name of Kurtz and beyond that he immigrated from Prussia we have no information, maybe now we will try harder.  I wish you all the best with your treatment and thank you for reaching out to me when you did.  It really helped.

Carole:  What a difficult time with the mice!  I had not idea that they could do that kind of damage.  You are blessed to have such good neighbors.  I'm sorry the pain from your RA has been so high - that would be hard to endure. Hope your cache in Tuscon provides some relief.   My prayers continue to be with you.

Hello Carole,

Sorry you need to go through chemo again; however, am hoping you will enjoy another round of positive results.  Think of you and Doug often.  Take gentle care of yourself and give that nasty cancer the biggest boot possible.  You are in my thoughts and prayers always!

Much Love,

Linda and "The Boys

Hi Carole-I had the advantage of reading the amended version first, so got the encouraging news of the surgeon!  I am very happy for you and Doug to get the green light to travel to Vienna.  It should be a great trip-a wonderful time of year to be there!  Like your friend said, you can let the rest of us travel vicariously, and tweak our past memories.  It is also reassuring that both of you will come back refreshed, and to such attentive and caring teams of physicians!  EnJOY!
Take care-you have our thoughts, and prayers as you travel. cj

Good morning, Boss....

I love you.....you're a smart cookie. You're like an old school journalist. You check things out and get at least two sources before you put it in the paper. A favorite J-School instructor....a frazzled, jumpy former Detroit AP bureau chief....would repeatedly tell us, "If your mother says she loves you.....CHECK IT OUT!" Same goes for doctors, too, eh?

Am sad and sorry to read your updates here, Carole, and yet glad that you're on top of it and getting an early start at kick-boxing that CA 125 back where it belongs. Will say this....you've got game, lady! And more spunky than a golden monkey! All the same, will hold a good thought and send up a prayer.

And will try my best not to be jealous of your Vienna days ahead. My favorite city in the world....so far. My first time there was thanks to you, tagged onto a Channel 8 advertisers' promotional trip that you let Martha and Ron and me take, along with Jerome and a couple of local icon car hawkers. Hope you'll FB post notes and photos for my vicarious pleasure. Should you find a free, art-inclined moment, I commend to you Klimpt's stunning Beethoven Frieze in the basement of the unassuming Secessionist Museum and anything / everything Egon Schiele, at Leopold Museum and anywhere / everywhere. CHECK IT OUT!

Hang in there, my friend. You are solid. With love surrounding....

So glad your trip to Europe is still a 'go'!  It's a once-in-a-lifetime kinda thing that's important to both of you. I like the surgeon's opinion better, probably because it's more pro-active. Both you & Doug can do this!! Remember to take along the support of your friends & family--it's awesome! Especially now that you & I are 'related' in ways we didn't know before FB!
