Beautiful Scars
Sit here with me
And tell me your story
Even if it breaks my heart
Let me see your scars.
Shame will whisper
Oh, but we can't listen
'Cause these are the stories that make us who we are
And I love who you are and your
Beautiful scars, your beautiful scars
Reminders of the wounded love
That has carried us this far
Beautiful scars
Turning the marks of our pain
Into beautiful scars
For us, bruised and broken
For us, He was forsaken
Our wounded Healer
Suffered to set us free
See in His hands and His feet
See in His hands and His feet!
Beautiful scars, beautiful scars
Reminders of the Savior's love
That has carried us this far
Beautiful scars
Turning the marks of our pain
Into beautiful scars
Oh, how I love your beautiful scars!
(written by Steven Curtis Chapman and Geoff Moore)
Here we stand at the six month mark, wondering just how we got here already. We look at the scars our hearts wear, and are so thankful for the reminders of His Faithfuless through our darkest hours. He is Good. He is Faithful and True. He is our Healer. He is our Provider. He is our Shepherd. He is "gentle and humble in heart and we can find rest for our souls."
We realize daily the gift He gave us in sparing Carol's life.....allowing us to continue to be encouraged by her ever-flowing kindess, hearing her contagious laugh, learn from her God-given wisdom and patience, soak in her calming presence.... just a few of the blessings that she radiates.
John is missed greatly. How could he be gone six months already? But how could we ever ask him to return to us after he has been worshipping in the throne room of God Almighty? We look forward to joining him there with great anticipation.
Lord, come quickly.
"Come to Me all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me for I am gentle and humble in heart and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."
Matthew 11:28-30
