“CASO CERRADO”
Eso es exactamente lo que nos ha dicho el Neurocirujano. Carla ha desarrollado una forma de cabeza casi perfecta, y después de los 18 meses la forma de la cabeza esta completada. Después de esa edad, la cabeza sigue creciendo, pero no es previsible un cambio en la forma, por lo que podríamos decir que Carla es un Caso Cerrado. En cualquier caso, quiere vernos dentro de dos años, sólo para un último chequeo, aunque está seguro de que todo estará OK… nosotros también.
Hemos estado pensando estos días en el proceso completo, cómo llegamos al Hospital 12 de Octubre, a nuestros queridos Doctores Maria Jesús Muñoz y José Hinojosa, y cómo ellos nos ofrecieron justo lo que queríamos: La Cirugía Endoscópica. Tuvimos que luchar mucho contra la Seguridad Social para conseguir la autorización para ir a Madrid, para tener todo el Pre-Operatorio a tiempo (el Escáner, los Análisis de sangre, etc). Mi padre dice que cuando alguien desea algo con todo su corazón, las fuerzas del Universo se alían para ayudarle, creo que ese ha sido nuestro caso, hemos luchado muchísimo pero también hemos tenido mucha suerte, y hemos encontrado gente en nuestro camino que nos ha tendido una mano. Ojala todos aquellos que recorran este mismo camino tengan la misma suerte.
Acerca de los test de ADN, el Sindromólogo nos ha dicho que llevarán tiempo. Van a estudiar la sangre de Mami, y tratarán de encontrar algún signo de síndrome. Como Carla no presenta ningún signo salvo la Craneosinostosis, no vale la pena estudiar su sangre. Parece ser que la Craneo está ligada a un gen llamado FGFR2, pero todavía se está estudiando, así que probablemente no tendremos ninguna respuesta con los resultados… sólo espero que el día en que nuestra pequeña pregunte, tengamos algo que decirle.

“CLOSED CASE”
That’s exactly what our Neurosurgeon said. Carla’s developed a nearly perfect head shape, and after the eighteen months the head shape is completed. After this age, the head keeps growing, but a change in the shape is not expected at all, so we could say that Carla is a “Closed Case”. All in all, he wants to see her in two years, just for a last check, but he’s sure that everything will be OK… wee too.
We’ve been thinking in the whole process these days, how we come to the Hospital 12 de Octubre, to our Beloved Doctors Maria Jesus Muñoz and Jose Hinojosa, and how they offered us what we wanted: The Endo Procedure. We had to fight a lot against the Public Healthcare to get the authorization to go to Madrid, to have all the pre-surgery done in time (CT Scan, blood analysis and so on). My father says that when someone wants something with all his heart, the Universe Forces will get allied to help him, we feel that this has been our case, we’ve fought a lot, but we’ve been very lucky too, and we’ve found people who’s given us a hand. We wish the same luck to all this who are going through this same journey.
About the ADN tests, the Syndromologist told us that it will take time. They’ll study Mommy’s blood, and they’ll try to find any Syndrome sign. Carla doesn’t show any Syndrome sign despite the Cranio, so it’s not worth studying her. It looks that the Cranio could be linked to a gene called FGFR2, but they’re still studying it, so we won’t probably know anything more after the results… I just hope that the day our little will ask, we’ll have something to tell her.
