Dear Friends and Family, we had an encouraging appointment at Duke on Monday. Dr. Martin thought Camille's skin tightness and swelling looked much better, so he cut back on the steroids, and also reduced the amount of chemotherapy she's been receiving. So far, the graft vs. host disease has not gotten worse since the reduction in meds, so this is a great sign that we succeeded in the initial "blast" at it, and we can begin to level off to a maintenance routine. Camille's joints have been a little achy, but nothing compared to what they were before the graft vs. host treatments. Her energy level is better, as well, although it still doesn't take much to exhaust her. Dr. Martin told us that this might take quite a while to conquer, but he's happy that Camille is looking and feeling better--so we're moving in the right direction! She is working hard with her schoolwork, and was thrilled to receive a 103 on her big Spanish test yesterday. That was the best medicine of all, for Camille! Thanks for checking in on us, and thanks for your continuing prayers. Love, Leslie
