Camden was diagnosed with medulloblastoma four years ago today. Today, he is our four-year survivor. We all feel very blessed & thank God so much for the gift of this wonderful child in our life.
Our family is celebrating by attending the Angels Among Us Walk at Duke this Saturday. Four years ago, Camden had his surgery on Saturday, April 23. That same morning, there were brain tumor survivors, family, & friends walking in honor or memory of loved ones at the Angels Among Us Walk in 2005. So, this weekend is always a very special weekend to us for many reasons. It marks the day all of our lives were forever changed. We won't only walk in honor of Camden & all of the survivors, but in memory of so many friends who are looking down on us from heaven, truly being our angels. Thanks so much to all who have supported us in raising money & buying t-shirts. I don't have the final count, but we have raised close to $2,000 for the Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke. It means so much to us & so many others who are fighting brain cancer.
On a little lighter note, Camden is doing well - enjoying t-ball, still loving school, and playing with friends. He is doing well with all of his therapies, and he may be exited from physical therapy at the end of this school year after 4 years. He is very proud that he can jump in the air using both feet and he has learned how to skip. He is also becoming a very good little reader, and his vocabulary is getting better every day. He still approaches life with a smile on his face, and when he doesn't get something the first time, he just smiles and says, "Let's try that again". He has such great determination & we are so proud of him.
Most of all, we thank God everyday for his blessings, and continue to pray for a full life for Camden that is free of cancer.
