Caitlin Dickey's Journal
Written Aug 1, 2008 5:42pm
First of all, thank you all for all of your love and support. We are overwelmed with the outpour of thoughts, prayers and help from friends and we feel blessed.
Caitlin is currently in her MRI. This is being done just to ensure there is nothing located on the spine and to better prepare the surgeon for Monday's surgery.
Caitlin has been a rockstar today. She woke up extremely happy and back to her normal self. Note the front page picture taken this morning eating breakfast!! She is getting used to having her IV port on her arm (they cover it with a "no no" bandage). She's even named her IV stand "Astronaut Silly Puppy"!! This name given since when she's connected and walks to the bathroom, it follows her with it's "leash"! Her silly humor is still there!!
Her MRI will be over around 8pm. At that time, they will keep her asleep for an hour, then we will be there with her when she wakes up.
We've decided that we will be staying the whole weekend before the surgery. We feel it is in her best interest that she doesn't get a "tease" staying home, and end up going back to the hospital. We've come a long way with her comfort level here. I think this is the best in regards to the hospital itself as well.
We will keep you updated on the MRI results. We should know by tonight.
Thank you all again!
