I hope all of you are doing well and staying cool in this heat. Caden completed his chemo on Thursday and is at home hanging out with his brothers.  Except for being a little bit more tired than usual, you would never know he has gone through chemo. He is "running" around like crazy since he received the single dose of radiation to his knees. He can once again walk backwards, side-to-side, "run", walk up and down stairs and  climb a little. Thank you GOD! Caden said when he gets stronger he is going to "play t-ball like brothers". Right now, "brothers" are playing basketball and thanks to Heroes for Children (
www.heroesforchildren.org ), they were ready to go with the appropriate size basketballs. Of course Caden wants to play, too.

It's strange to think that at the beginning of May, with the new lumps appearing in Caden's body and the increased pain he was experiencing we weren't sure what the next cousre of this journey would reveal. Would the disease progress or would God's wisdom guide us to the appropriate course of treatment to extend Caden's life?  Scared but hopeful, that's been our lives as we approach 2 years of living with this disease. We now wait for scans. Again, we are hopeful but scared. Please pray that all these treatments have been greatly effective against this cancer. Pray that the scans are better than expected and that results lead to a  treatment plan that spares Caden's life.

Thank you all for your prayers. Thank you to so many who continue to support our family - your gifts are appreciated more than words can express. For so many to continue to hold fundraisers for us as we approach 2 years into this is very humbling. Until we walked this path we never knew the true financial toll cancer places on a family. Thank you!!!!!!

Please continue to pray for:

Cody Novak (

as well as Brain B., Eli H., Zachary C. and a newly diagnosed little boy Zachary Cartwright (
www.caringbridge.org/visit/zachcartwright ). He was diagnosed with stage 3 rhabdomyosarcoma a week before his 2nd birthday and had to celebrate his birthday in the hospital - how well we know this story. Thank you all for your faithfulness.

Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.

PS: Photo is of Caden, Zach and Josh with the Ponte Vedra STORM - the U16 Girls Soccer Southwest Regional Champions. The team was at the hospital before their tournamant last week and played for quite some time with all 3 boys. So of course, we became their instant fans. Congratulations girls!
