Good morning Budzee,
I wanted to update you on a bit of the KDWCD 'stuff'. I remember, as scary as it was, my first day at KDWCD and with Faye. I remember the Cain Street 'office' that was hot in summer and freezing in the winter to Faye and me, but winter was always just right for you. We were able to view a little of the world through the wooden slats of the walls during the various seasons of the year, all the time with your fan running... HA!
Remember one morning after your nomal early 'checks' of the gates on your way to work, when you came up and parked in your normal spot, under the tree near the front of the office windows. There were alot of laughing and ribbing you. A gate had plowed into your work truck. I watched James Crook chuckle and then everything went back to normal. I had thought...hmmm, this IS a interesting group of people - I hoped that I would be accepted and would fit in.
A few weeks later I was needing some chocolate and looking in the refrigerator I spotted an ice cream. Budzee, I didn't touch it, it wasn't mine. Until a few days later...darn that thing was still there and going to waste. So, I ate Bud! Yes, - it was yours...HA-HA! You accepted my apology by saying, "that is why they are there." Thank you for not yelling at me...HA-HA! You never yelled - you just laughed!
Remember when we all moved in here; it was June 1991. There were a few old walnut trees left from an orchard that was replaced with our office and shop. Thank God no more wooden slats! Anyway, slowly over time the landscape shaped up with drought tolerant plants and bushes, of which you knew there names. Amazing! Well, most of them have just now been replaced (and I am sure you know there names as well), anyway alot of the first group of vegetation didn't get enough of water. - HA!
Thank you Budzee for being receptive of me as a new employee.
you knew I was nervous and shy. HA! I have been here since August of 1989. You were always kind to me. Thank you for letting me see your humours side! I still laugh when I think of the funny conversations you, Faye and I had, those are great memories I never would have had if I hadn't met you. Thank you for your kindness and humor! Until my next journal entry...be good! Love you Budzee!
