Bruce Snyder's Journal
Written May 27, 2009 11:20amWe hope this entry finds you all doing well and enjoying the beginning of summer. The Snyder family is doing well and taking each day one at a time. It has been a difficult journey so far, but we are strong women and continue to live, laugh and love as dad always wanted.
As of June 1, our family will be creating a printed book of this CaringBridge site. This was such a therapeutic, uplifting and essential tool for dad while he fought his courageous battle. We are making this book so that we will always have his inspiring words and quirky sense of humor at our fingertips.
We also look forward to having your encouraging words and memorable stories included in this book. With each of your guestbook entries, you gave our family comfort. We will always be grateful for your support and for putting a smile on our dad's face during those difficult days.
So, if there is anything else that you would like to share on this CaringBridge site, please be sure to do so before June 1st.
With lots of love,
Linda, Jennifer, Tracy and Paige (and Ella)

What a week it has been. Our family feels so blessed to have the outpouring of support through this difficult time. We are taking each day "one at a time," just as he would have wanted.
Many of you have expressed interest in our plans moving forward. As you know, our parents are fairly private people. We know we could fill a stadium with everyone who wants to pay tribute to dad, but we are honoring his wishes to keep it to a private gathering of our family.
He loved you all and wishes he could have one last Stella (Chimay, Heineken, Guiness....) with each of you. So we ask that wherever you are on Saturday evening, you raise a glass and toast Coach Snyder. Our family will be doing the same and I know that the collective cheers will be heard up there by dad. Whether you are in a big group in California, with your family in New Zealand (Sammy!), or relaxing at your own home...let's all toast dad one more time and thank him for the best example of a life well lived.
In lieu of flowers, our family asks that donations be made to the following organizations:
Dr. Evan Hersh/Melanoma Research
PO Box 245013
1515 N. Campbell Ave.
Tucson, AZ 85724
Hospice of the Valley
1510 E. Flower Street
Phoenix, AZ 85014-5656
Doctors Without Borders

It is with heavy hearts that our family informs you all that Coach Snyder passed away this morning at his home. He was surrounded by his loving family and dog at his feet.
Words cannot express how much we will miss our father, husband, brother and best friend. I wish I could write this journal entry with his thoughtfulness, humor and guiding words. But we are comforted knowing that he is now healed and pain free.
We miss his smile, his captivating stories, his advice, his laugh and big bear hugs. But one of Coach's ideas in the past few weeks was to really think about a "life well lived." What makes that a good life? I think we can all agree that Bruce Snyder lived his life well and he would hope that all of you do the same.
Thank you all again for taking this journey with us. Each of your thoughts and prayers carried us through each day, allowing us to focus on our precious time with dad.
We love you daddy.
