For the past few months Brooke has been in a lot of pain and has had swelling in her right hip bone (pelvis area). She even started to walk with a slight limp. Finally, she was sent to have an MRI done. Once the results came back she was immediately sent to an orthopedic surgeon at Johns Hopkins because there appeared to be a growth on her hip bone. The orthopedic surgeon had a CT guided biopsy done to try to determine what the growth was on her right hip area. The results from the biopsy determined that Brooke has Osteosarcoma (bone cancer). We then had to have chest and bone scans done to see if the tumors have spread to other parts of the body. The results from the chest scan determined that Brooke has 4 tumors that have spread to her lungs. Brooke will have to undergo 2 rounds of chemo and then she will have surgery to remove the tumor in her hip, and then she will have to have hip replacement surgery followed by physical therapy. Then she will have another 3 to 4 rounds of chemo before having the lung surgery to remove the tumors. Followed by more chemo and physical therapy lots of scans and blood work. Brooke is a very strong and brave 13 year old girl and with JESUS CHRIST the love and support of her family and friends she will be inspiring and touching the lives of many people for many years.

Hello Everyone, I am writing to ask if you would consider making a donation to my team in the Ronald McDonald House of Baltimore Red Shoe Shuffle 5k.  Last year our dear Brooke was the Honorary Chair Person for the 1st annual 5k taking all three trophies, largest team, most money raised by a team and the individual that raised the most money.  This meant everything to Brooke, if you go to the link below you will see her holding the three trophies in her lap.  If our precious Brooke were still here with us she would be pushing us to exceed last year's achievements!<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

If our team "Shocks Rocks" can raise $10,000 this year we will be honored by having Brooke's name placed permanently on the new shuttle that the Ronald McDonald House is purchasing to transport the sick babies and their families from the many hospitals in the area and then back home at the RMH.

Please help support the RMH of Baltimore; they are everything to the families that need their services.  Also, having Brooke's name on the shuttle will be a true blessing to our family she is missed by everyone every second of every day.

Sincerely,

 Krebs and the Shockley Family

Angel Krebs
