It has been 7 months and 11 days since we lost Brody.   I wish I could say it's getting easier but that would not be true.  Whoever said time heals all wounds had obviously never lost a young child.

One of Brody's favorite things we would do was to take a family trip to KC to watch the Royals.  We made the trip up there this weekend.  It wasn't easy, he was on my mind the entire time.   He was definitely with us at the game and I'm sure he had something to do with the Royals winning last night.  His favorite player was John Buck the Royals catcher.  During one of Brod's hospital stays in NY the Royals played at Yankee stadium.  And a friend of ours in NY (Flo) arranged for Buck ( that's what Brod called him) to call Brod.  Of course he got all shy and wouldn't talk on the phone.  Buck called everyday for 3 days in row, finally on the 3rd day Brod was able to talk to him.  Brod and I talked about the phone conversation a lot, he really enjoyed talking to his favorite player.  I had promised him the next time we go to a Royals game I try to let Buck know.  I left a message for Buck on my way home from work on Friday telling him we would be making the trip in Brod's honor.  As soon as we walked into the hotel room after the game on Sat. my phone rings and it is John Buck.  We talked for a little while and had a nice conversation.  A major league baseball player calls my cell phone, that had to be Brod's doing.

We haven't made much progress on "Brody Park".  We had the playset up and a storm came through and leveled it.  It was only up for a few weeks and the city didn't have it insured.  Thankfully our home owner's insurance did cover it and we have another one on order.  We also have the plans made for a basketball court and a picnic shelter.  Hopefully it will all come together soon.

I have added the pictures of Brod's place at the cemetery.  We are really proud of the way it turned out.  Anyone that knew Brod, knew how much he loved to play with his toy barns and animals.  He would spend hours on the floor in his room getting all the fence, animals, & equipment in just the right place.  I think I have built more miles of fence in his room than most real farmers have built, I am very thankful for the time I got with Brod.

Please remember the families that are still fighting this nasty battle and especially the ones that have had the battle end.
