Two years ago from today we found out the horrifying news that our daughter, Brittany (5 years old at the time), had Leukemia. It was truly like a bad dream that you can't snap out of. We knew our lives were forever changed no matter what the final result would be. We all prayed that night and the next day that it would be ALL instead of AML. At 5:00, June 31st, our world was shaken more when Dr. Cain met with the family and told us the bad news. Brittany had AML. Dr. Cain informed us what Brittany would have to endure and said Brittany had a 40-50% survival rate. A parent's worst nightmare. Two years later, Brittany looks as though she has never been sick! She is healthy and energetic. Her hair is down to the bottom of her neck but it's hard to tell because of her beautiful blond curls. She is active with playing with her dog (Rowzer), her sister (Kylie), friends and neighbors. She made straight A's in school. She is going to take a cheerleading and tennis camp this summer. She loves to swim and has a golden brown tan like the Coppertone girl. She will go back to clinic for a blood check early August. She actually misses going to clinic because of the fun arts and crafts! Thank God Brittany is healthy and thank you for your prayers! Keep praying!
