Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We will do our best to keep everyone up to date on Brianne's treatment.
Brianne was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on April 26th, 2012. She had not been feeling well for a few weeks prior; she was tired and mostly complained of a sore throat. After several doctor's visits we decided to have labs drawn. Her lab results were extremely abnormal which led us to Cardon Children's Medical Center where she was diagnosed.
Just a quick update to let everyone know that Brianne is still doing great. She is continuing to do well in school and has straight As. Her counts have remained good, actually a little bit too good, so one of her chemotherapy medications was upped to 125%. Hopefully increasing her methotrexate will bring her ANC to targeted range of 500-1500 (hers has been 1700-1900).
Brianne is very excited that her school is doing a service project for the hospital she goes to. They are currently meeting every other week after school to make cards for the kids in the hospital. She is excited that she may be able to help deliver them too. She also wrote a short essay to try to win $1,000 to help fill the toy closets in the hospital. She will find out if she won on December 5th.
Brianne will have a count check next Tuesday to clear her for spinal chemo on Wednesday. We are excited to be able to be in the POTC at the same time as my friend's son Payte gets his last spinal of his 3 1/2 year treatment. It should be a fun time :)
We are very excited for the holidays and all the events that come along with them.
We hope everyone has an amazing Thanksgiving filled with family, friends, and good food.
