Brian’s Story

Site created on March 9, 2018

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement.   On March 7th Brian suffered a hemorrhagic stroke and spent 21 days recovering in the neuro icu at Swedish Medical in Denver.  On March 28th he was moved to Colorado Acute Care Hospital to concentrate on physical therapy.

Journal entry by Richard Fox

Brian is doing very very well and we're all thankful for this outcome.  I apologize that no one has updated this blog in 5 or 6 weeks -- the short story is that for the two weeks after the last blog entry on April 4th Brian had stalled and was not progressing in his recovery as he had previously.  At that point he was moved to Spaulding Rehab in Aurora where the medical staff almost immediately diagnosed improper cerebral fluid pressure and performed a procedure to correct that.  By the next day Brian was pretty much himself again, and for the last three weeks has been working to regain his strength.  As of this past weekend he is out of the hospital and back in Louisville!  He can be reached at his bvsd.org email address.   😇

Help Brian Stay Connected to Family and Friends

A $25 donation powers a page like Brian's for two weeks.

If you donate by April 17, your gift will doubled, thanks to a matching gift by former CaringBridge board members.
