HAPPY 12TH BIRTHDAY TO BRIAN!

On August 24th Brian had his 12th birthday....he and some friends all went to see "The Longshots", then play putt putt and then they shared cupcakes. I think he had a good time.

We had a great time in San Diego! What a great city! The weather was great and we did a lot while we were there. Of course there was the World famous San Diego zoo....what a place! We stayed on Coronado and spent one day at the beach there, we toured the U.S.S. Midway (cool!), and went to Cabrillo Monument. Eric and I went to a Padres game, Brian and I went to the Scripps Aquarium and drove down along the ocean through La Jolla, Mission Beach, Pacific Beach and Ocean Beach....what a view! Jeff and Eric went to LA and saw both the Angels and Dodgers play in their own stadiums, bringing Eric's stadium visits up to 9 total so far. We also visited with several families we have gotten to know (Edwards, Thomas, Masten and Krula) and had a great time with all! We would definitely go back to SD again.........perhaps rent a house on the beach next time and just hang out and relax!

School started August 18th, and Brian is now at the middle school where Eric has been going. He entered 6th grade (while Eric is in 8th) and even though this school is 1250 kids vs his previous 220 kids, he has been transitioning very well. I hope it continues to go smoothly throughout the year. It is nice to have him in our neighborhood school now where he is closer to home and can make new neighborhood friends too.

Not much to report on the medical front.....regular check ups are all good. His Endocrine visit this week showed slower growth than in the past, so his doc will see him again in December and if growth is still this slow, he may take him off the growth hormone shots for awhile. He feels that if Brian is not really benefitting right now from the injections, he might as well be spared them for awhile, so we will see where we are in December. He has a cardiology check up in December as well, so we will update more then.

That's about it from here. Hope all is well where you are. Know that we are thinking about you all and love to hear from you! Don't be such strangers!

Take care!

Niki and the boys
