I also just checked up on our Camp Challenge friends. This organization supports local cancer patients and their siblings. Each summer during the last week of July patients and siblings enjoy a week at summer camp in North Louisiana. Some of the staff that run Camp Challenge were near and dear to B's heart as well as ours. Brittan has volunteered as a life guard for the past two summers and Zac and Dylan attended camp last summer. Each year the campers return to Children's Hospital after a long week. Each camper is given a T-shirt w/ the Camp Challenge logo. Last summer all the campers were given orange T-s. Terez, B's nurse, assured me that was done for B and my boys. It was very emotional watching 100 campers walk off the bus in orange.
Anyway, the weekend of May 23-25th, Camp Challenge is having a fishing rodeo in Grand Isle @ the Sand dollar Marina. This is the first time it is hosted in my backyard (well almost). I am so excited. Please check out CC link and the link for the rodeo.

On Wednesday, May 14th we are leaving for our annual Give Kids The World volunteer trip. It has been a little while since I have taken a ride on Brayden's Express, but Mr. Jim who represented GKTW at our golf tournament shared a bit of Brayden Express info with me. Brayden's train was dedication on Good Friday, April 9, 2007. Since Brayden's Express has taken that inaugural ride with all of us on board.......
Brayden's Express has ( according to village statistics) traveled over 17,000 miles ~ the equivalent of 27 trips to GKTW and shuttled over 25,000 wish children and their families around the village. Wow B!!!! Just like his song of love " Brayden Breaux is on the go......"
I still step back from time to time and think about the day B and Zack were arguing about career day for school and when we asked B what he wanted to B when he grew up. He said "a train", we all kind of looked at him and went "huhh". We all should have know... B ALWAYS got what he wanted. Why should being a train B any different.
Please pray for a safe trip as about 100 volunteers ( several wish families included) from our community travel to that special place. Last year was one of those Power of Orange trips. We unexpectedly attended The Gala and met Henri Landwirth. Ironically, everyone at The Gala knew Brayden's story and how after Pam decided on the day B passed that they would name a train after him, she unknowingly fulfilled yet another one of his wishes. In the past year, some amazing things have happened and continue to do so each day. I can't wait to see what this trip brings.
We do have Brayden Breaux Memorial Golf Tournament logo items left over to sell. Michelle just couldn't help herself when she began ordering the merchandise. We have an assortment of items. If anyone is interested, please call or email me. You can also contact either Michelle or I at LCO Middle (985) 693-3273.
Love, Hugs, Prayers, and Lots of Orange

P.S. I know some of you like it when I share those orange stories with you. Yesterday mid-day I decided to visit B. That is probably my favorite time to visit and when the line is the least ( those of you who visit know what I mean). Anyway, I had just hung up a cute little bumble B wind sock that a friend had given. I had just sat down and began to reflect about the future of the foundation and the little push I seem to have been given lately when a huge bumble B came buzzing around. I had to smile and of course thank God for that little reassurance. I had not had a B come visit me at B's orange room in a while. Thanks little B......... I love U
