I’m Done!!!!! Happy Independence Day to me! Actually, I had my final radiation treatment on July 3rd so I celebrated a double independence day this year. We took off right after my final treatment for ‘up north’ to visit friends and family and celebrate the 4th of July. We had an awesome time visiting family and seeing some friends we don’t see often enough. I also had my 20th high school reunion on Saturday night and had a fabulous time. It was so great getting to see a bunch of people I graduated with and many I hadn’t seen for 10 years. I also found out that two people I graduated with live within 2 miles of us – pretty cool. Needless to say, I should have updated last week but we have had an entirely crazy week. My girls are in swimming lessons 4 days a week and we also had a soccer camp through our church – Awana High Power Soccer - each day this week. It was a super busy, tiring week but also a ton of fun. As for me, as I said at the top of the update – I am done!! I have had all the treatments that I am going to have and will see my doctor on Tuesday to get the update on where I go from here. I know I will see the doctor every three months for check-ups for a couple of years and then every six months for a couple more years. I imagine I will have scans periodically as well but will find out the specifics from the doctor. I am feeling great and flew through radiation with flying colors. It is great to be done so we can get on with our summer. This will be my last update seeing as I will not have anything more to update (which is a great thingJJ). I will miss reading encouraging words from so many friends and family, but I am so thankful to be over this phase of life and to concentrate on the next phase – whatever that happens to be. Thanks once again to EVERYONE for all the kind words, prayers, meals, childcare, hair help, etc, etc, etc. Each one of you holds a special place in my heart (actually in our hearts). You are the greatest group of supporters a person could ask for and we will never forget any of you and what you have meant to us. I leave you with a few verses that have helped us along the past 7 ˝ months: - With God, all things are possible. Mark 10:27
- The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. Psalm 18:2
- Don’t worry about anything. Instead PRAY ABOUT EVERYTHING and thank Him for his answers. Philippians 4:6
I have a magnet that says ‘With God’s strength, I can do this’ (and I did!!). Thank you Lord!! Thank you all, and God Bless. YBonnie
