Elizabeth Unangst
Nov. 4, 2003 — July 6, 2008
Elizabeth Grace Unangst passed away Sunday, July 6, at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital as the result of terminal cancer. She was 4.
Elizabeth was born Nov. 4, 2003, in Corvallis to Scott and Natalie Unangst. Elizabeth had the most nicknames any little girl could have: Beth, Bethy, Lizzy, Biz, Princess, Angel, Sugar and Blondie.
Her father called her Sugar. He would often ask her, “Do you know why you’re my Sugar?” She would answer, “Because I’m sweet.”
Beth was Angel Baby to her Mama. Her mama’s favorite thing was to cuddle with Beth and just watch her joy of life. The room would light up when she walked into it.
Some of Beth’s favorite things to do were playing dress up and Barbies. She also loved jumping on the family’s trampoline, swimming and riding her favorite princess bike, playing with her best friend Angie Vela, and doing lunch and shopping with great-grandma Laura. She did all these things with joy in the simplicity of her innocence. Two of her brothers, Jake, 6 and Justin, 11, and her older sister Breanne, 16, would often style her hair and give her pedicures and manicures in adoration of Beth. She and her brother Quinn, 5, would often explore for bugs together.
She adored her youngest brother, Caleb, 2. She loved to nurture him with a mother’s heart.
Beth’s most favorite thing to do was go to Grammy and Grampy Koberstein’s house and tease Grampy-pants to no end. She also liked to go on nature walks and bake special treats with Grammy.
Many people were drawn to Beth’s soul. She was beautiful and radiated life. She was spunky and spirited and had a great sense of humor. She was pure joy.
Most of all, Beth loved Jesus and we can be comforted with knowing our Angel Baby is in Heaven.
She is survived by her parents, Scott and Natalie, her brothers Caleb, 2, Quinn, 5, Jacob, 6, and Justin, 11, and her sister Breanne, 16, as well as her grandparents Bill and Linda Koberstein and Barbara Unangst, great-grandmothers Laura Rodgers and Veneta Francis; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
A celebration of life will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 26, at Calvary Chapel Sanctuary, 2125 N.W. Lester Ave., Corvallis
