My Story

Bethany was diagnosed with JMML (Juvenille Mylomonocytic Leukemia) on 23 Decmeber 2005. Her lungs collapsed a week later from all of the retained fluid in her body. She spent the next 3 weeks in PICU on a respirator. She recieved a Stem Cell transplant on 17 March 2006 and is now in remission and off all treatment.

Hi again, well it seems that my prediction of slackness has come true! I do apologies for not updating more regularly, but quite honestly I have better things to do these days! You know what I mean.

Beth is doing very well and is about to start 3 full days at day care! Which seems so unreal that we have even reached such a point. For a long time I didn’t even think that a ‘normal’ life was ever going to be within our grasp again.

Beth has her next check up this Thursday. I can't wait to see how much she weighs now. She says 'You'll be fine mum' when I tell her shes too heavy for me to carry now! Cheeky monkey! So this clinic appointment Nyree is doing an extra blood test to see what Beths immunity levels are like and if she is happy with that result then we will be starting her immunisation programme. Scary stuff. It shouldn't be considering all we have been through but I can't say I am looking forward to it at all. SO unfair for my little poppet.

Calvin has just had a promotion at work which is very exciting. And I am plodding along with my training and enjoying every minute!

Thats all for now. Will update further after we have seen doc.

Love to all,

Rach.
