Ben went to his post-op neurology appointment on Wednesday, and despite missing his nap he did great. He got a little frightened when we first entered the room. I think it reminded him of the hospital since it was basically an exam room. But once he realized that we were just there to talk, he settled down and did all of the normal 2 year old things he was supposed to do. Our doctor felt that everything looked good, so we made a plan to see her again in 4 months. That will be around the same time Ben will have his next MRI, and we will wean him off seizure medicine at that time. I guess they normally like to keep kids on the medicine for a whole year after the operation, but since they were able to remove everything, and since Ben has been seizure-free for so long, we both felt comfortable doing it sooner. Yeah for Ben! Nothing but positive news as we head into a blessed holiday season.
