Axel,  I have followed your journey, even though you don't know me.  Heard about you from your grandma at Camp Lebanon quilt camp.
What a remarkable roller coaster of recovery you have had!  You have been so brave and have fought so hard.  We celebrate you!
My prayers for you and your family will continue.  Blessings to all of you.

I have never met you (Justine), but I have followed Axel's story for quite a while.  I just wanted to take a minute this morning to tell you that your journal entry today has, once again, brought tears to my eyes.  Congratulations to Axel, a sweet, sweet survivor!

It is time to celebrate ... and move on to the next chapters in your young life.

Many, many blessings,

Lisamarie

Wow. It seems like a lifetime ago that this journey began for your family.  It had almost started to feel "normal" as strange as that sounds.  Celebrating with you! Have a little extra ice cream tonight!  So proud of how you all have not just survived, but THRIVED through it all.  Go Team Zirbes!  Love you all.

Dearest Axel and family, what a journey you and your family has been on and what a wonderful life you all have to look forword to! Try to remember that pokes in the arm actually hurt less but look scarier than fingerpokes... you have been so brave so I know you can handle it, and whatever comes your way as you live your life. Thank you for sharing your journey with us and I look forword to updates when they come. Hopefully we will meet again some day on the ballfield or where ever... Have a wonderful life Zirbes family, will be thinking of you.

We've been watching videos and looking at the pictures. Obviously Henry loved the "chug, chug, chug!!" from Carter for Axel's last pill. I was very lucky and got to see Axel's trophy at the bus stop this afternoon -- while he is beaming about that, his first comment was that he got to have ICE CREAM. I think we can all agree that ice cream "because you can" is one of the best reasons to have it -- and after 3.3 yrs of not being able to... It's the little things. We look forward to the many more big and little things to come for all of you! Love, Team Hastings

I'm doing a happy dance for Axel with tears in my eyes. Way to go little guy! And, in an ironic way, I think his fierce fight against that finger poke was just a little reflection of the passion he used to fight his cancer. And, I'm going to celebrate that he had all that energy and passion to put into his fight.

So happy to read about a success story, and I'm offering up prayers that it continues. You've all earned it.

Way to go kiddo!!  Congratulations on your last chemo!!  I have followed your journey from the beginning, said many prayers for you, your mom and dad, and your siblings (I've even said prayers for your Grandma and Grandpa, and some for your uncles....because I KNOW your uncles need lots of prayers:), and am so happy that you are done!  I will continue to send prayers....for strength to get through those nasty finger pokes (I hate getting them too at the Dr. office).  Congratulations again!!!!!
