Greetings! Well I just wanted to update you all real quick and let you know that Avalie is doing just great! There were about 5-6 days after the tonsils came out that she was pretty sore and needed her pain medicine around the clock, and then one evening she was just fine-eating pizza! :) We think her scabs must have come off or something, because she didn't need even a single dose of medication after that! So that went fine, really-I was most worried about her tonsils. As far as her trach goes-she is doing fine without it! The hole is slowly getting smaller-which we are thrilled about-maybe it will just close on its' own and no surgery will be needed! :) It is a challenge to keep it covered as most things don't stick really well-but we are managing alright with it! We just got back from a weekend trip to Omaha and seeing the Omaha Zoo (REALLY COOL!), old town Omaha, and the Children's Museum with some friends! It was lots of fine and we are tired! The girls did great and had lots of fun! We got home Sunday night and then tonight we are heading off for our first real family vacation to go see some of my family and do some fun things with the girls. We haven't gone too far away at all in the last 3 years with Avalie's pregnancy, birth, 7 month hospital stay, re-admissions, Emmie's arrival and so on! So needless to say I am a little busy packing right now so I don't have time for new pictures except for one I will put up in this entry! They both are just happy little ladies and play so well together! Emmie is turning into quite the fiesty, dare-devil little girl and loves to give you the cheesiest smiles!
I will update and add new pictures when we get back-prayers for a safe journey and Avalie's continuing shrinking stoma site would be much appreciated! God Bless and stay cool in this heat! :)
