My Story

Hello! My name is Ava! I was born with a large hemangioma on my right shoulder that extended to my elbow, and a small on on the back of my neck. I was also born with a type of dwarfism that is genetic called Leri-Weill Syndrome. (see resources tab) I had removal June 12th 2008 at Childrens in Cincinnati. Ava had her 2nd birthday party saturday. We had a great turnout! Kevin blew up 250 balloons for the living room. Ava had a blast, although after opening her gifts, didnt want anything to do with her cake....she was happy playing with her grocery cart. We had a housefull until about 12am! Happy Birthday big girl!
Nikole and Ava both had an ENT appointment friday, Ava's hearing is perfect and Nikole still has a small hole in the eardrum. We will have to make an appointment to have the surgery done. They will be taking a small piece of fat from the ear lobe and plugging the hole up with it. Hopefully this surgery is a lot less than the other.
