Autumn was diagnosed with Wilms Tumor, Stage IV Favorable Histology on 8/10/06. She received 26 weeks of intensive chemo and 3 weeks of radiation therapy. Scans showed No Evidence of Disease throughout treatment and for six months, until...

August 7, 2007 scans revealed relapse to both lungs. We need a miracle--God is able! Please help us pray.

Post Transplant Day 19:

WOW! It was like a different child greeted me when I arrived today--there has been a magnificent transformation since Tuesday evening. Thank YOU, God! Autumn's skin color is pink and the peeling is gone; her gorgeous smile is back as well as the sparkle in her eyes. The puffiness in her face is nearly gone; she has lost a pound of fluid since yesterday; her counts are holding steady (WBC 12.8 last night); her bottom is sooo much better; and best of all, she is really beginning to eat. Had just polished off the entire bowl of peaches served with lunch. Tried some canned tuna a few minutes ago and said she could taste it. BIG smile.

The doctors are weaning her off Fentanyl and they started Methadone today. She is walking a minimum of five laps a day; doing potty chores alone except when she needs cream; started oral meds today and has only three IV ones left; drinking at least a 20 oz. Gatorade every day; and has been off oxygen since 5 a.m. Friday morning. YES! The doctors say she looks and sounds wonderful--lungs are much better. The open wound doctor says her bottom looks ten times better since last week. Need I say more? There really IS light at the end of the tunnel and the tunnel is shorter! Doctor says it looks like discharge will be the middle of next week.

Thanks for checking in and for every prayer and message. Autumn loves hearing from you! Please continue to pray for all the brave kids fighting the battle, for those who have suffered the ultimate loss and for the gentle cure. HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY! Love, Nina

P.S. Sorry it took so long to update today. I started at 2 p.m., but every time I tried to save, spyware overtook the laptop. Guess I'll get laptop #4 Monday....
