Hey Yall,

Just wanted to let everyone know that austin is still feeling great and we are having a good weekend so far.  Pretty much all of our friends and family are out of town this weekend so austin was crying for us to get someone over to play.  Well our friends todd and jeanne have a cold so we cant get hunter over to play so we took austin to pick blue berries at miss nancys house, she is a friend from work and asked me to look after her house for the week.  I made the mistake of telling austin she has blue berry bushes and austin insisted on going today.  We took him and picked a bag full of blue berries.  We also took him to see the fireworks in downtown greenville tonight and he really enjoyed that too.  With his immune functions only at 264 we still have to be very careful with austin, he cannot be in crowds or in a store.  500 to 2000 is normal so he is a little more than halfway there, he was 140 when we left duke in march so he continues to increase which is great but he still has a ways to go.

For now we live our life by preparing our fields for rain, if youve ever heard the story of the 2 farmers who desperatley needed rain on their crops, one sat and prayed and worried and the other went out and prepared his fields for the rains that he had prayed for.  We have much faith that austin is going to grow old with us so we dont take chances now because he has much time to do the things he cant right now.  Not everyone uderstands because he looks so good and is feeling so good right now.  Even some family doesnt understand that, but that does not matter, what does matter is that austin stays healthy and his body continues to recover from the damage done by the chemo and radiation at transplant.  We have a friend that has been through terrible trials with her child that told us we would lose contact with friends and family that truly did not understand the situation and think that we are just being over protective with austin.  They can think what they want, austins life is the most important thing, their feelings come absolutely last.  I have been tried, tested, betrayed, and just about everything else you can name, my focus remains the same, on god, my children and my most wonderful, perfect wife.  My wife makes me the man I am today and without her I would be lost.  Some of my family may not want to believe that, but if you dont I dont need you in my life.  Austin is the center of our life now including my 12 year old son adam who's understanding is better than a lot of 60+ year olds.

We love you all and thanks for the prayers.

Love,
Marty
