But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed. - Isaiah 53:5

I fail to update when things are going good so I thought I would give a quick update.

Basketball - There were about 40 kids who tried out for the team and the coach kept 10 on varsity and the others were split into two separate JV teams. In addition to the 10 kids on varsity, the coach picked 5 kids who would play JV but were invited to practice with Varsity and even have an opportunity to move up to varsity through the season. Austin was one of the five! We were so proud of him. He missed out on two years of playing basketball and is still a good little player. He is so aggressive on defense. Kind of remindes me of myself when I was his age. I thought fouling out was a badge of honor!

Chess - He has gone to two tournaments so far this year and is really doing well. The first tournament he won third place in his section and brought home a trophey. The second tournament was the state championships and he won second place in his grade! He really enjoys playing.

His book - I am still trying to seek out options on getting it published but probably after the holidays I will work harder on it. We can always just make copies without getting it published.

Health - Wonderful! He has missed some school due to emotional/mental problems but they seem to be pretty normal for all that he has gone through. It seems to be worse in Nov. and Dec. which makes me think it has a lot to do with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder since this is when he was diagnosed in 2005. But he is doing a lot better than he was doing this time last year so this is progress. We just encourage him to pray more during his bad days and it always gets better. We have found when you just stop and pray for God to pour peace upon you or your child he always provides! God is awesome. He doesn't have to go back to the clinic until January. We will do blood counts then. He is doing so good!

Please keep all the children fighting their battles in your prayers today, as well as the families of the children who are in the arms of Jesus today
