Pray for Abbey

I wanted to give a quick update on Aubrey. She is doing great and things have been pretty quiet around here (whew). She had a wonderful 3rd birthday except getting a lovely present of DOUBLE ear infections. She didn't seemed bothered by them much and it cleared up very quick with meds. She absolutely loved her birthday party and I will be posting pics as soon as I have a free minute. Both kids went to their very first dentist apt yesterday and did soooo wonderful!! Their teeth are perfect and very well cared for (thank you). So onto why I'm posting:
I want to share a story of a special 5 year old little girl who we have not had the pleasure of meeting in person but keeping in contact with her mother who I met on a PDCD (disease Aubrey has) web page I feel very close to them. Aubrey and Abbey Vlcek have the same diagnosis so a lot this family has been through we are going through. Over the past few months Abbeys health has been declining. She was losing what little energy these kids have and losing the desire/ability to handle food. She is g-tube fed so she is not able to verbally say "I dont want food" but her body was showing signs and letting her parents and doctors know she could no longer handle it.
Abbeys family and doctors made the most difficult decision any person could ever make. The all agreed that it was best to stop her feeds and let Abbey make her journey Into heaven peacefully and pain free. It has been 21 days since Abbey has had food. As described but her mom Kelly, the first week she was awake and the happiest they have seen in months. The past few days she has been sleeping more and her heart rate is getting faster but more faint. Here is how it was so perfectly explained to Kelly by Abbeys doctor. ( I took this from a post by Kelly)
She has Lactic Acidosis because of her Pyruvate Dehydrogenase Complex Deficiency (her disease). She has lived on a day to day basis with chronically high lactic acid levels due to the way her body processes her food. Over time, her body does not release all of the lactic acid and it esentially turns to poison in her system, which ultimately becomes a huge problem. Hence the "life limiting" diagnosis. She has fuctioned on little or very low energy levels for her entire life. Therefore she can hang longer in this state than other kiddos because it is really no shock to her system at all. As for removing the food part, she probably feels better than ever! Her lactic acid levels have probably come way down now that we've removed the "enemy". So in short, she is very comfortable, and her days have been enjoyable.
Please pray for this family and pray for Abbey that she is comfortable and makes a peaceful journey into the arms of out father. She will soon be healed.
